HLG Customer Service NOT Helpful with Choosing the Right Light for Me

You are talking about HLG, correct…?

Yes. Charged me $409 for a refurbed 350R and $104 for a UV30 XL on sale.

That’s totally legit, I am super down. I saw that “DUDE” code for HLG earlier, does anyone know if Honey has ever found any other codes for their website?

Chose this as my first Led light

Pretty happy so far

Tent is a month old …aside from the middle plant which was started outdoors

Greenbeams are SOLID lights.

F’n loving it …seriously thanking @Graysin for pointing me to it ! Allowed for my budget to get the 8” inline air controller which I also think was a smart move for a 4x4

Yea Graysin loves them. Has great success. HLG clone. Hard HLG folk dislike the cloning but can not knock the performance even though some try.

I wish I had more grows with different equipment in my rear view to even compare lol …I plan on expanding and I knew this would be awesome for a veg tent regardless
However that middle yeti wedding wasn’t flowering when I brought it in here …so those flowers are starting to look really good under this light im really confident in it …and never expected to be this far along on an indoor grow ,I’ve only ever grown outdoors .

Not tryin to jinx myself but for a first grow indoors ever and so far …lol

Seems like something is going right

The 350r should work good with that setup. I have all ac infinity stuff and had a few lights of there’s. The issue is that I got know where near the dli I wanted. I switched the setup for a 350r and have been very happy with the light.

I have gone from mh/hps to blurple to mixed to quantum boards. I have 5 older commercial HLG. Still have the meanwell drivers. The greenbeams are almost exactly like these. The difference in my grows is VERY noticeable.

That’s good to hear …I am really happy I went with it …
Having grown one yeti outside I will be able to compare that to how it grows inside hahah …and hopefully by then some more experience over all …I kind of need to make mistakes to get to the point I want to be at …but truthfully without this forum …I’d still be stuck on germination…

Yea mistakes teach better than advice. Told my son"dont marry that woman". 2 years later she left his Navy butt and went Califonia way took half…child support…alimony and moved to Hawaii. He told me…lesson learned never again…roflmao. But the lesson was fully learned.

As the others said, shouldn’t be any “fees”. Order hlg direct, put in cart and hit checkout. You should be able to enter code and see what final price at checkout is.

Cloning is awfully nice way to stay stealing their work ideas, research, and development.

If anyone cared enough, I’m sure ppf data on epistar 660nm vs lm351, cree xp-g3 or osram ssl is available and would be pretty significant difference. As it should be, it’s comparing a 30 cent led to 3 dollar leds. That is where a significant difference in price comes from. Cost for you or I to get in usable package is about $50 per board.

I think it’s reasonable to say they seem like a fair low cost alternative.

Im using an HLG 600r and a HLG320XL. Love em both. Take a look at grow light science too. They would be my second choice. They have some excellent reviews also.

There are lots of lights out there to choose from. Which ones work for your situation.

Here’s a good article that explains diodes and led fixtures. Lots of hype here about HLG and they are good but imo haven’t evolved with a bar style light.

I’ve been using HYPHOTONFLUX HPF4000 for the last couple years in my 8’x4’ tent.

I’ve added far red and UVA boards

New model has the latest far red and UVA diodes.

You wouldn’t by chance know what sort of power option i would need to choose from them, would you? I live in the midwestern United States, so i am assuming i would need the 120V option, but i honestly have no clue….

Do you by chance know what power choice i should make? I live in Midwest USA, i am assuming the 120V but i do not want to make a mistake…?

As long as you plan on using standard home wall receptacle you will want 120v.
