Hey y’all it’s been a wild 2 weeks. I had to move my plants for a few days after getting notified of yearly apartment inspections ( smoke dawg forgot all about them!) I purchased an ac infinity 2x4x6 and got them set up in there. After seeing how little room I have I decided to flip to 12/12 yesterday. I have a fan for intake air and ac infinity 4” exhaust w carbon filter. 69 controller which is a real project trying to set that all up. But I have it running for what I need. I can’t seem to get the humidity under 60%, it’s more like 70% steady. I know that’s acceptable for right now, but once they start to flower I need to get that down in the 50% range right? I’m reading about mini dehumidifier being pretty much junk( vivosun) any recommendations for lowering humidity. Exhaust fan is running steady at 6 out of 10 speed. Here’s some pics before and after I trimmed them up before flipping. How do they look? Haven’t given any additional nutrients yet as their in ocean forest soil going on 3 weeks from transplant.
Yea your ok now but u will need a dehumidifier to get below 60% i had that same shitty vivosun dehumidifier and does nothing so i bought the govee smart dehumidifier and controlled thru an app and no problems since
I have 5 plants crammed in a 3x3 tent. When they started to flower humidity went straight up. Tried a small dehumidifier inside the tent. Didnt really do much. Put a big dehumidfier in the room outside the tent. Dont have any trouble keeping it at 50% now. I do have an exhaust fan and small fan in the tent. They run 24/7.
Happy growing!
I think a dehumidifier in the room the tent is in will work best. I tried a bunch of stuff inside the tent…dehumidifiers add heat …so that was a problem.
I got an AC/dehumidifier and am able to control the environment much better. I run the AC when the lights are on and then switch to dehumidifier mode when the lights are off.
I have a similar set up to @4204life; 3x3x6 ACI running a 6" exhaust and 6" clipfan 24/7. I also use a whole house dehumidifier, so my lung room is a consistent 60% rh. To knock it down to 50 and sometimes low 40’s in the tent, I deconstructed a repurposed a boot dryer. It pulls only 36w, takes up very little space, and reduces humidity with no extra effort on my part and without ramping temp way up. During veg I’ll cycle it on during lights out and during flower I just let it buck 24/7.
Ur plants look happy and healthy @Shaggy1987! Keep up the great work growmie!
My tent is also in the basement. So humidity is usually 65 - 70% down there w/o dehumidifier.
Did you increased the light intensity when you went to flower? That will help bring down the humidity by increasing the temperature.
You can also place a fan at canopy level to move the air around the leaves to help keep them dryer than the surroundings.
I’m right at 75% on mars sp3000, they were getting blasted for a few days in the new tent, I didn’t consider all the reflective walls after not having any before. They were over 1000 ppfd , so I just raised the light to 24” and now they’re at 850ish ppfd 35-37 dli. I do have a fan at canopy height and a small fan on outside that basically fits the intake opening.
Ingenious! Which model on the smart dehumidifier? How did you alter the boot warmer?
Welcome to the community @JayG! Nothing crazy, took the base off it and removed the shoe horns
