Hershy’s Soil Scrogs

thank you for the tip!
u think i should cut it into like 4 pieces instead of jus 1? that might work better
or just separate each branch individually

A few pieces will do. If you can control the drying area your good, if the humidity is an issue then you can strip all the large leaves as well.

actually humidity is between 45-50%, i had to run the hot water in the shower for like 5 mins to bump it to 60 a couple times. but i may have issues with low humidity until i can get em all chopped and all put in the tent together again
luckily it should only be like a week of this but hopefully thats not too long

could i hang the plants that are done in the tent with the plants that are not done or would the light have too mich of an effect on the ones hanging?
if i hung it close to the ground away from the light, at this point does it need to be dark, does light from a window or a room effect the drying?
wouldnt think so honestly but ive heard it has to dry in basically pitch black all the time but like… does it tho

reason behind this question is, i pulled in from work and when i entered the building i live in, the entire hallway all through the building was staaaankyyy, clearly from a plant.
the plant drying literally reeks up the entire building.
but when its in the tent goin through that carbon filter, it doesn’t stink.

I mean you could but it would degrade your bud and increase your chances of the flower molding. I definitely wouldn’t do it if you plan on storing for long term. I myself wouldn’t do it just because I put so much time, money and effort into growing my plant that I would want the best results possible but yea gotta do what yea gotta do. I know I would be paranoid if I lived in a multi family building with the stank. Hell I get paranoid when it’s drying in my dry room with the filter full blast cus yea can still smell it from the driveway. I know for a fact that my next door neighbor can smell it when she walks to her garage. It’s honestly insane how loud bud gets when it’s drying.

i mean i live in a building of stoners but still. its never smelled like it does now throughout the entire complex.
im all about quality, so anything that effects that, im not even doin they can deal with it if thats the case, its only gonna be a week or so anyway till i get em all back in the tent and the safety of a carbon filter hopefully.

so what about sunlight throughout the window, should i block off the window and make it dark in the room they hang in?

also glad to see u around havent seen any updates or posts or anything from u last few days, hope all is well

Yea I would definitely throw up a blanket or something and try to block out light as much as possible. A little light won’t hurt it. It’s the constantly being exposed that would cause damage to the trichomes it changes the compounds of the thc which would destroy pretty much whatever is medicinally there and would lower the potency of the thc and also increase the chances of mold forming. Which would be a total bummer if that happened.

Alls good in the hood in these neck of the woods. Things have been a little hectic and been trying to enjoy these last few weeks before school starts tomorrow. Took a trip to the suburbs to celebrate my kiddos birthday. It has been a while since I’ve been on here. I should probably post an actual update of the clone I got haha I’m still trying to catch up on everyone’s journals. Some of y’all are hard to catch up on lol

jus want to throw in here my lil side plants.
i think people completely underestimate this indicanja soil, everything just booms in it.

im really hoping as far the actual smoke sesh goes when it gets done, the stuff has the taste and effects im hoping for.
it definitely 110% has that smell once it starts drying, no doubt about that!
cant wait to pack a bowl with it tho

I’m glad you’ve gotten something out of my journal! You definitely hit the ball out the park with your grow! Can’t wait to hear the smoke report once it’s ready.

do u think the marshydro fc-e8000 is good or should i go with the fc8000
ive seen someone say the e series isnt good but they could have been talkin about a different brand i dont really remember :person_shrugging:
im also getting the ur45 to go with it to add that uv in there for best results
my current light didnt make the cut, i realized i have insufficient lighting to produce a lot of super nice dense buds so thats the next thing
