Here we GrOw Again (ILGM- Wedding Cake Autos)

You know I value you opinion Brother. Thanks for tapping on the keyboard for me.

I’ve never grown autos with salt nutes only organic and feeding is different but I do start backing off on the lighting with autos the same as I do with photoperiod the reason for backing off is to avoid burning the trichomes and evaporating the terpenes you might lose a little weight doing it this way but the quality is much better. Here’s a chart that shows the recommended light intensity throughout a grow cycle now I put more light than it says but the chances in intensity are pretty close to what I do expect the switch to flower to the end is pretty flat until the drop at the end… this is photos I’m still learning what I can do with autos I haven’t grown enough to have a real pattern yet
I actually just made my own chart that shows more of what I do it may not be exact because I don’t measure my dli and because like I said before grows change so numbers have to follow

I smelled the Terps, 2 watering events before. I smelled that on my last grow and still get a whiff when I open the CVault storage that @hellraiser turned me on to.

This Grow box I have set up I see I grow more weed than I can smoke, so producing the Highest Quality is what I am ultimately trying to achieve. I definitely am here to improve each time I try and pop one out of the ground.

Each grow is somewhat of a failure in my mind. Nothing can be perfect. Learning though. I am seeing I need Bonsai Skills in a 22x22, LOL

To me the new guy I look at watts and I think More light Bigger Buds and that is true to a degree, More like quality lights, proper Spectrum, drivers…

The pattern of the season does the same as your chart so you are mimic the real season in a indoor perfect lighted tent…I see. It makes sense.

This strain is about 100 day grow, so that is 14 weeks 100 /7.

I am not casting the perfect light, so I may play with this a bit, I never get my temps over 82F. Usually in the 78-80F all the way from A-Z. I may play with my lights a bit.

What would you do with your Lighting Strategy it you were confined to my space growing Auto? Applying your years of watching weeds grow.

Wait…Think I just found the answers to my PH Problems.

Take a good look at on the label.

Wait these are Females…Glad I didn’t use it.

I swear I bought the thing about a year ago when I was trying to Grow a Beard. :cowboy_hat_face:

I was going to edit my last post but missed the window to do so.

I plan on these to be done 30 November (100 days). Maybe a bit longer, but this box is my Drying Box also, so being the same strain, they all coming down on the same day. I am too close to others here where I have to mask the smell and be COVERT.

This 22x22 space will be crowded with 3 plants (Never Grew 3 at same time) as I am pushing the limits. I will have a single scrog smashing my buds together as opposed to separating them by the end of the grow, so will be taking them out the space more frequently during lights out to check them for any signs of mildew or rot. I am in the higher 50s and low 60s Relative Humidity steady right now and I cant really get it any lower with all the water in the bags evaporating. I think I am a little bit high on the RH for flowering.

These Wedding cake Buds get crazy Huge. I was making all kinds of mistakes last grow and this strain produces coke can thick top buds. Very pretty to look at when it grows out. Stone you when you smoke it.

Relating this reply to your Lighting Chart…

I think I will keep my 168w Max until 7 Nov (Start Wk 11) where I will dial down to 148 (-20w). I anticipate a 30 Nov Chop.

I will start pure water around that time too for leaching the Salts out of the Soil?

I think Feed as needed slightly Until 20 Nov, which on the 4 day event schedule whould give me 3 watering to leach out

This is going to be a nice bounty for my Pain Management. I am probably going to do one more grow early next year and I should be good for awhile.

That should put you around 9 weeks of flower so I would start looking at trichomes a week before to see what they look like and what type of high you want out of these
I’ve never grown auto’s don’t know other than checking Trichomes for optimal harvest time

Keep as much air movement as you can if RH is higher than 50 may want to do more defoliating the center of the plant to prevent mold/bud rot

That is true for me as well. I do not have to use UP very much. My well water is 7.5+_ and using Jack’s with growing in coco my target pH is 5.8 - 5.9. I did use UP when I used rain water and grew in soil.
It sounds like you have mix order and when to take pH & PPM readings figured out. Both should be done just before use.
Some variation within the recommended pH range makes sense. Not all of the nutrients are taken up at the same rate at a specified pH.
Green shiny leaves - pretty aren’t they. What I think it shows is approaching the limit on nitrogen. Slight tip burning is also an indication of getting close to the limit. In general I think the objective is find where those limits are and know when you have maximized the plant’s capacity. With that also comes knowing when to back off before nonrepairable damage is done. (I’ve done that and it isn’t pretty).
I think these leaves are just about right. Rich green but not shiny with just a touch of tip burn.

The depth of green also depends on strain and phenotype. Some will just not be as dark.
I think your plants look healthy and are on a good path.

I was going to edit this earlier and post but missed the window.

I see Spanky’s reply. Have not dug into @beardless 's reply yet.

I have the loupes but I can’t see worth a shxt even with my glasses. I did see a x1000 power Easy linked but I am going to hold off for now.

These are autos and I am going strictly by the naked eye and when I see the hairs turn color 85-90% on average of 3 plants that will be the trigger.

I am sure my head will like the effects at that point even if the chop was not done at the optimal time.

I think If I was growing 1 photo in this space I would $pring for the x1000 and try to hit tricomes perfectly.

I plan on these to be done 30 November (100 days) based off my first round with these back in January. Maybe a bit longer, I am not locked into that date for the chop.

This grow box is my Drying Box also, so being the same strain, they all coming down on the same day.

I am way too close to others here. I have to mask the smell and be COVERT. I can’t take any chances. Welcome to the GnR Jungle if you catch my drift.

This 22x22 space will be crowded with 3 plants (Never Grew 3 at same time) as I am pushing the limits.

Shxt, I will have a single scrog smashing my buds together as opposed to separating them by the end of the grow, so will be taking them out the space more frequently during lights out to check them for any signs of mildew or rot.

I am in the higher 50s and low 60s Relative Humidity steady right now and I cant really get it any lower with all the water in the bags evaporating. I think I am a little bit high on the RH for flowering.

I may thin out the centers heavier. Noted Spanky’s advice.

These Wedding cake Buds get crazy Huge. I was making all kinds of mistakes last grow and this strain produces coke can thick top buds. Very pretty to look at when it grows out. Stone you when you smoke it.

** @MeEasy’s Lighting Chart…**

For an experiment, I think I will keep my 168w Max until 7 Nov (Start Wk 11) where I will dial down to 148 (-20w). I will let that by not only my Day Light Saving time Roll Back and will also be the cooler fall I will create for my Buds in the Grow Closet.

This is going to be a nice bounty for my Pain Management if I don’t screw it up and lose focus.

My reply came out all messed up.

I will watch and probably trim out the center of the plants this next watering.

Does not seem sweaty in the grow closet. I live in a normally very Dry environment.

Thanks for the reply. I always love to read other’s Grow strategies.

Each grow is getting better than the previous attempt.

Last grow I learned alot about dry and cure also.

It is definitely a three stage event before one can let their guard down.

This would be a pain in the AZZ but you could water each bag separately on different days so 1 would be wet 1 moist and 1 dry to reduce amount of water at any given time in the box
Just a thought

I think if I do three again will definitely get them on different watering schedules not because of the time involved watering but from a RH management point of view.

I am wondering how much that would change growing in CoCo? The Water weight of the bag tells me there is alot of water in that space with 3 at same time.

I can see the benefits as the CoCo medium is a steady. With soil it is all about the mix of the bag…Hotter…Less Hot…somewhat varied.

Like you mentioned before in this conversation a auto-watering device would have to be figured out by me before I would attempt leaving dirt. Right now dirt is starting to make sense so I hate to jump and start over scratching my head. To me it is a waste of time and effort in a 22x22 with my “Laboratory” with a drain is 4 steps away. Alot of this stuff I would love to try, but my space and location is not worthy of expansion.

Update 26 OCT (Day 59 Above Dirt)

Got a few issues. Not too bad is my assessment. They all got .50% label strength this AM. Some bad fan leaves on #3. Actually Plant #1 old dirt looks the best of the three. Plants 2 & 3 dull with a few more bad leaves on #3 than the others.

I pulled the branches apart more and tightened the training wires. I went in and pinched off some fan leaf in the center of all three. I see what @hellraiser says to grow that thumb nail out. Growers nail. I think I have some descent center draft now that I gave them a hair cut.

My 4” closet air intake real low is at 5” below bag top heights so I feel I get a good total air pull thru the box for the exchange. I did not move the fan down on the bar yet. I will monitor temps and RH. Probably Spin the plants ¼ turn thru the day. I will move the fan down on the shower bar if the RH gets out of whack.

These MF are going to be tight when they grow out. I know these tops on these wedding cakes can get like Coke Can thick When they are growing. Last grow they did.

Flora Chart show target range run off at 1050-1400 for week 9. I am high but that is the way I like to be :grinning:.

I will look to see what new situation I created tomorrow. Although the grow is not perfect. I smell the terps, Today my arms feel like I been spray painting in the wind with a t-shirt on reaching down to defoliate the centers. STICKY! LOL

I know the Magnesium normally goes on non feed days but I see dull green. I what to see what happens. Last feed I was too light on ES, I was more at a ¼ tsp rate. ½ teaspoon=2 gram per Gal is my today mix ratio.

As always open to any comments or suggestions from the other weed heads. @spankyjr1 @MeEasy @Caligurl @ExoFly any others.

they are around 24-26 inches above the dirt. I am thinking I will pull right at 3 oz cured out between the 3 for a total of 9 oz…then if all goes to plan I am going to empty the Cvaults and cook down what is left of those previous grows and make some Tincture drops for bedtime.

Nice man. Will you be documenting that process? After i get the hang of edibles, im going to learn oil/tinctures, so if you do please let me know.

There is a Edible thread I have book marked. I have not read too much of it. You want to read @hellraiser gorilla Glue thread here if your going to stick with dirt as your medium. That thread has alot of valuable information. Lots of people to hitch your wagon to around here. I think I linked those correctly?

Thanks Easy. Always appreciate comments from the ones that know what they are doing, LOL.

What are ya’LL smoking out of? I like these Grav 16 MM. Back when I was buying black market weed I was trying to make sure I did not lose a spec. May go back to the old trusty bong?

Im an aero/hydro guy but still plenty to learn from soil people.

I was looking for that thread. Someone linked it before and i lost it. Thanks!

I want to do hydro, but dirt Happy frog Fox Farm will take you deep into the grow just PH water. As a weed poor person I wanted to make sure I did not crash the grow. My base city water is horrific. I have around 900 PPM with 8+ PH as is.

I try to keep things real simple and cheap. Check out @Dennis62 he crushing it growing with Miracle Grow. I don’t have the money to buy all the pretty stuff and I am going to figure out how to grow this shit on the cheap…well semi cheap, but compared to $325 Colorado top shelf Prices…I ain’t spending much. I have recouped all I invested and that includes getting rid of that SF1000 spider farmer lamp and replacing it with the HLG 135 v2.
