Help with white widow auto flower not growing right

15868765549901987360671005431362

What am I doing wrong? Taller plants were put in tent around Feb 11 and the next week 2 more plants etc as they were big enough to put down there. I am using an mh bulb 1000wts that is set at 650 with the ballast. They are in fox farm oceanic soil. The heat is at 85 to 86. They seem to be starting to flower to early and some are tall with out many leaves and some short like 7inches with alot of bulk but notgetting taller. I added my old led light to put down there with the mh. These are white widowauto flower. I had severe issues getting them to germinate. Ilgm sent me new seeds twice so out of 60 seeds only 9 plants germinated and grew!!! I really starting to wonder if it’s theseeds.?

Also what is the hanging height of the MH fixture and what type bulb/s have you used and when.
Autos generally will start flowering stages around 4-6 weeks after leaving the seedling stage…and that’s about 2 weeks.

I’ve read others post about using dimmable MH fixtures and that if dimming say a 1000w ballast down to 600w that it changes the color spectrum to the negative and that you should use a 600w bulb when doing so.
Take a look here…I don’t use them but have read about using them and this may help you.

White widow auto flower from ilgm

• Method: Soil w/salt, Organic soil, Hydroponics, Aquaponics, KNF
Fox farm organic soil
• Vessels: Pots, Grow beds, Buckets, Troths
Pots
• PH of Water, Solution, runoff (if Applicable)

• PPM/TDS or EC of nutrient solution if applicable

• Indoor or Outdoor indoor

• Light system mh and I set up my small led on there too

• Temps; Day, Night. See below

• Humidity; Day, Night
Have it on 18/6 schedule when lights on heat about 85 and I turn heater on when lights off so about 85 then too. Humidity at 22 to 25 I cant do anything about that impossible to get a humidifier right now
• Ventilation system; Yes, No, Size
Yes tent has flaps and I have small fan near ceiling and large fan pointing to vent
• AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier,
No ac it is on basement doesnt get hot enough for it. And impossible to get a humidifier

What size are those pots?
What are you using to feed them?
What type of water are you using? Tap, well, RO, Distilled? And what is the PH of the water and or water with feed?
What are the PPM of the feed?

There are ways to help raise the humidity some with things you may already have around the house. Search here on site many ways.
Fill a container with water and soak a towel in water and hand that up with the towel in the water and a fan blowing across it.
Here is a chart to reference relating to temps and humidity for different stages of growth.

What’s the height of light above plants?
What bulb is in the light? MH or HPS?

I’m having trouble with the same seeds🤔

I followed Roberts method. Soaked in water tails showed on three others I used his Peroxide Method on those still nothing I’ve been going by his grow bible

Ok just checking how long did they soak

The first ones showed in 24h and the others I left for 72

Any suggestions

I also heard to use a fingernail file and gently score the seed to allow moisture to weep in then resoak some may take a couple days just change the water out everyday and watch

Let me call In someone more experienced @dbrn32 @kellydans wanna help here

I had huge issues getting my white widow auto flower to germinate . Ilgm replaced my seeds twice so ended up with 60 seeds. Maybe 30 germinated only about 15 made it to seedling stage and now have 9 plants and they aren’t doing well. I’m ordering a different strain

When were these put under the 1000 watt metal halide light? Doesn’t look like they were started with it.

I had started with the hps for first week or so I thought it was the mh bulb as soon as I realized I switched them out

You only ran hps for a week? The hps makes sense, but I wouldn’t figure they’d get that long of node spacing that fast.

The autos should start flowering at roughly 4-6 weeks old, that’s pretty much regardless of size. It’s up to the grower to provide ideal environment and care to get most plant growth in that time. I can’t comment on your abilities as a grower, but you have room for improvement on your environment. Your temps are too high for hid grows, these should really be kept in high 70"s and relative humidity kept in check for proper vapor pressure deficit. I also seen in another thread that you had 1000 watt high 24" from these plants earlier in their life, that’s too much for small plants. I’m assuming that was the time you switched from hps to mh. They probably stretched under all the red in hps spectrum, which is why you lowered, but in doing so ran too high of light intensity and probably too high of canopy temps.

Long story short, no indication there is anything wrong with these seeds. I see mo signs of genetic defect or mutation. Getting them to pop may be other issue. But I have seeds in excess of 10 years old I could probably run higher than 50% germination rate on. I’m not trying to blow smoke up your butt, sometimes things do happen out of your control. But for everyone post I see where someone has low germination rate, there’s also a member here that’s popped 50 seeds and never had one fail to germinate. That is also extraordinary in my opinion. if you grow long enough, you will run into a few stubborn or damaged seeds. But half, something definitely seems off.

Something else I picked up on, it looked like you had been moving plants from outside to inside? You can do this, but you should probably be treating for bugs as a precautionary measure long before you see them. Nature has a way of dealing with harmful pests, the minute you bring a plant in that goes away, but any bugs that found the pot or plant don’t. It can ruin a whole grow.

My recommendation for you from here is to try some photoperiod plants. They’re not going to fix your grow, but they will allow you to veg as long as you need to get things squared away. Imo you should wait til these current plants are down before you start anymore. In the meantime you can look closely at your germination method and maybe try something different. You can also research proper light heights for plant stages, and tinker with ways to get your environmentals in check. When your ready, strip everything from your tent and clean the life out of everything. Then put everything you’ve learned along the way into motion with the photos.

sorry to butt in. i have white widow autos also. i am on my second grow and i havent seen any problems getting them to germinate. i have 2 that are 30 inches tall and one is 40 inches. last time it was opposite. i have over watered, over fertilized, and made every mistake possible to kill them but they survive somehow. so dont give up on them they really are beautiful.
