Help with Leaf Diagnosis - RDWC

Good day growmies. I’m having a bit of trouble reading these leaves. Can you help with diagnosing of the issue?

Durban Poison Autos
RDWC with FloraTrio, CaliMagic, Armor Si, Southern AG

Here is the res reading from the morning.

Here are the girls.

And a closer look at the problem.

I’ve upped the CaliMagic to a full 5ml/gal and increased the Floragro to 4ml/gal.

Thanks for stopping in to assist.

Oh, about 3 weeks old now.

Temps are a little high in the buckets Growmie, what’s the distance between the net cup and top of the nutrient solution… 1.5-2” is the norm. What’s the RH and temps in the grow space. I’m not seeing a nutrient deficiency needing more calmag or floragrow :love_you_gesture:

Running the water about 2-2.5" below top of pots.

Here is the environment.

So you don’t think it’s a nute issue?

Thanks OG

I’m not seeing any real issues Growmie, temps, RH look good. I would follow the feed schedule dosage with a target PPM around 900-1000 :love_you_gesture:

Thanks OG. I’ll adjust accordingly.

I don’t see issues either. I’ll add that the ideal pH is 5.8.

Don’t worry about the lower leaves. It is normal for them to develop blemishes as the plant matures.

Thank you very much for checking in. I did go ahead and purchase a 42gal chiller for the res. I’d feel much better with the res temp around 69°F.

Thanks again!

hey Jim I just rolled in from Camping and saw this post …I have not looked at your journal yet…as OG mentioned 77F is pretty hot for hydro and may cause some root issues…as Midwest and OG also mentioned I don’t see any real issue just normal growth…if there is a specific thing you see then please point it out…

Thanks RoG. I just ordered a 42 gal chiller. I’m adding RO ice in the meantime.

It’s dropping, slowly.

Once the chiller comes in, I’ll dial it in to around 69°F. They should be much happier there.

my reservoirs stay around 72-73F…I don’t have a chiller or external reservoir and so I rely on the room temp to keep my totes cool…right now my grow room temp is 74 and humidity is 60%,this is the last week of stretch for my girls then they bulk up ahahahahahaha

I typically keep the tent around 74-75°F, but I have it warmer for the new girls. I’ll probably begin to drop it back this week.

I got a used chiller on eBay for $170. If I don’t need it later, it goes back on eBay.

Thanks RoG!

Have a great day!

Nice score Grow Bro, I haven’t made that purchase. My aero set up is usually saved for the winter months and my res sits on the cold concrete floor. Temps usually hover around 70-74 :love_you_gesture:

Mine where around 70° in my buckets. The tote has a 300w light right over. It’s covered in foil, but it is pretty much keeping room temp. I’d be happier around 69°F for the RDWC.

I thought that was a good score too. They are sending a new pump with it. Pics look clean.

Great day to you OG!

Good call; this is a necessary addition IMO. How much air to the buckets? You should be at a ‘rolling boil’. This add O to the root zone which is necessary to not drown them.

I don’t see any ‘guarding’ of leaves indicative of root issues but definitely will benefit from the chiller.

Thanks @Myfriendis410. I did check the roots today, and all white and healthy. I’ve got six 1/2" stones on the tote and two in the reservoir.

Chiller is due to arrive tomorrow.

This is the air stone I would suggest: blue stones deliver a finer air stream with smaller bubbles which helps oxygenize your solution better.

Lots of air. I use this:

You probably couldn’t put too much air into your liquid.

Thank you @Myfriendis410. I have a great deal of air moving in the RDWC. I have 6 stones and 4 waterfalls in the tote and another two stones in the res. I will look at those recommendations though.

I do have a commercial air pump with 8 outlets. I just need to install it. Haven’t had time since it arrived.

I completely agree on never too much air in the system.

My biggest concern at this point is the res temp. I did get a chiller, but I need to replace a gasket on it as it has a very slight leak on the intake.

Got the new chiller installed and it is doing a fantastic job of keeping the reservoir cool.
