This is ILGM, Northern Lights, outdoor, week 2 of flower.
She is an otherwise perfectly healthy young lady. Except yesterday, this 1 entire branch started wilting/dying. I see no breaks, or pest. I’ve never heard of this and don’t know what to do. Can someone please advise me?
If it was a problem below soil the wilt would be all over.
So I suspect stem rot or a borer insect of some sort.
Best to remove the whole stem as close to the trunk as you can.
I agree.
Nuts… i was afraid of that
Will this continue throughout the plant?
If you don’t take measures now it certainly could.
What measures are there to take?
This as stated.
But no sort of spray or soil treatment in addition to that?
A little honey on the cut will help prevent infection to the cut.
And if you have any silica product it will help strengthen the plant. If you don’t have any its not a big deal. Just get that stem removed.
Thanks for the advice. I give 2ml/gal Si every feeding. Im getting my fiscars now. Sad morning
Im pretty sure that 1 branch would have been 3 lb by itself!
I’m sorry, I know how it feels to have to remove a big part of your plant, I had a big flower branch I had to remove because there was mold on the main stem, and I couldn’t, get rid of the mold, and it had a lot of flowers on it. Better to save the plant. But it really sucks, because you have put a lot of money time and energy in making sure she gets everything she needs
Check your others closely.not 100%sure without more information.but I’m pretty sure it’s a vine borer.they can be cut out of a plant/vine and if caught early plant will heal.google vine borer.check the part you removed and see if you can ID the pest.
I’ve done the vine borer removal on pumpkin and running squash plants many times.Look for odd bumps on the stalks.Hope your issue get resolved quickly.
I looked over all the branches and didn’t see anything… however… i looked over the branch i cut and didn’t see any thing notable there either. So… maybe i don’t know what I’m looking for?
It would be a pretty small hole or a healed over scar.
If you aren’t on a preventative program for pests you are likely going to have more trouble. Captain Jack’s and Safer are the two go-to products I use.
Take a box cutter and split the stem all the way. You should find it that way.
Since its off the plant it should be easy enough.
I have captain jacks but haven’t used it since flower started. Is it okay to spray during the day?
Okay… 2 applications of capt Jack’s dead bug… yesterday i found this😒
1 more satellite branch and 1 more primary branch completely whilting, independent of the rest of the plant. I removed both branches and treated the cuts with honey.
This morning i woke up to this
Another branch whilting…
The rest of the plant is fine and healthy. Finishing up week 2 of flower. I don’t know what to do…!?
At this point… I’ve already removed half the plant!
My other outside plant is not showing any issues
