Help!... New Grow Tent Temperature Control

So why need it if AC can be set to any temp?.. When my daughter comes to town she sets it as low as 67 at times (or so it seems). Ha!

If you go to the 6" exhaust you can keep the 4" for an intake.

When you have a lot of negative pressure on your tent it stretches the threads in the seams and will eventually cause light leaks

I wasn’t sure if you would need it . I would love to be able to use mine like before my room in the summer just relying on the house hvac gets 80° so my tents hit 90 at times

Thanx guys!.. Big issue solved with your help!..

Now… If ILGM will work with me I’ll be happy… I’ve purchased 11 different strains from them and all but the last one were fantastic… My last purchase of Sour Diesel Autos were a complete bust (0 for 14 germinated)… We’re exchanging emails.

Have a wonderful evening folks!.. I appreciate the knowledge/help… Cheers!.. :tropical_drink:

I bet they will. They’ve been fantastic for me

You control the room temps and thus the tent temps will go down. I learned that long ago with me living in South Texas.

Looks like you’ve been sorted out well. Easy said somewhere up there that the inside fans will just be pushing hot air around, that’s important to note. Do you have your tent exhausting outside? Or circulating back into the same lung room?

I love my T6, it works beautifully. But like mentioned up there, if the temp in your lung room isn’t lower, then you’re just pulling in hot air.

I couldn’t tell if you thought having that AC would be too big for the tent… it’s job would be too lower the temp in the room your tent is living.

Nice upgrades my friend!

You can upgrade ur inline fan system to a 6inch or put more fans and you can turn ur lights down or u can have a second inline fan exhaust system blowing air in from outside thats what i have ive got two inline fan systems one is sucking hot air out and one brings in cold air from out side the tent

I found that this fan helped me. I have the upper fan pointed towards the light.

If you are sucking the sides of the tent in then you don’t have enough intake air. Install an intake fan and you will be good.

I have my exhaust fan on all the time and my intake fan on a temp. controller.

A little suck in is important. Negative pressure keeps the air circulating the best. Without negative pressure you also reduce the functionality of your carbon filter, if air is escaping from the tent the scent won’t be scrubbed.

The key here is a little negative pressure is needed continuously. My exhaust fan is blasting out. my intake is set to keep the walls to just a little suck in. When the temp controller shuts off the intake fan then the walls suck in hard.

I use the T6 for EXHAUST (Set AUTO w/ min OFF speed #1, max #3 operates at #1 unless triggered by temp/RH threshold). The second T6 for INTAKE (Set AUTO, w/ min #0 and max #2). Dual 4" intakes (into veg tent) keeps both 4x4’s too cool, using only ambient air. Intake (at night 50-55 degrees at window). Veg tent adds ten degrees and flower tent adds another ten. Exhaust into attic. T6s are really quiet and T6’s favored over Vivosun 6" fan that drives my ears to pain. Vivosun benched to spare parts locker. What is your input temp? Night temps run cooler than days. ACI Cloudline Controller does the work and records while i sleep. Negative pressure on both tents, minimal tent side collapsing.

Wish i had a way to get the exhaust fan to slow down when the intake fan shuts off. I still want a little negative pressure but the way it is when intake shuts off there is a massive amount of exhaust. Still works though as long as outside the tent air is cooler than inside the tent.

During the heat wave we had here last year, my exhaust fan was running full tilt. Tent suck in was huge…my 4x4 tent went down to a 3.5x3.5 tent! Easily lost 3" or 4" on each side, and the worst was right in the middle of the walls, right where the widest part of my plants were! Easy fix, 2 pieces of 5’ bamboo on each wall, parallel to each other from 2’ and 4’ height on one corner going to 4’ and 6’ height on next corner. That stopped the tent from sucking in so much. Still sucks at the lower and upper parts of the tent, but no plant matter there, so no matter for me!
Suckage sucks!

No outside venting, just back into the same room… I’m keeping the room temp around 70-72… 2 small fans inside the tent, one up high and one down low.

Previously, in my smaller tent, I had one T4… Thanks to the words of wisdom from everyone, I’ve ordered two T6’s (intake/exhaust)… I’ll leave the T4 in the smaller tent.

As said, my lighting is way too much for my tent… I had a BP3000 in a 24x24x55 tent… So when I upgraded to a 24x48x60 tent I naturally upgraded to two BP3000’s… LoL!..

Thanks to the great tips from you all my grows are really getting better. I’m on grow #6 and I’m routinely getting 4oz dried/cured from each plant… I’m still space-constrained with a neighbor really close, so we’ll see how this goes… While my needs are mostly recreational (it does help my arthritis), I have a niece that suffers from chronic seizures so I’m helping her out also. So far she’s been pleased with the ever-improving quality. LoL!

Cheers guys!.. :beers:

Happy to chime in, hopefully it’s helpful. I don’t think you’ll need 2 T6 in there if you’re looking to reduce cost a little. But it’ll never hurt to have.

Keep that room AC set cooler during lights on and you’ll offset. Get the driver’s out of the tent too if you can, and you’ll be right where you need to be!
