Help! Again 🤦🏼‍♂️

Think I done it right

You hold your phone under the plant at the top of the plant level to get a reading. It uses either the camera or a light sensor that’s built into the phone to measure light.

There are several different kinds of measurements for light.
DLI stands for daily light intensity. The amount of lights supposed to get varies throughout the plant stage.

There is a thread from an knowledgeable member here named Nikki I believe the thread is called start using DLI check it out. I would link it to you but I’m not that familiar with the site.

I checked the readings and posted above how are those numbers? And I will do I’ll check the post out now thanks bro

I still think the lights are too strong (and that DLI reading is in agreement) but backing off on watering is a good start.

Okay what would you suggest I do about the lights? Just use the one for now?

Just raise it up a bit like maybe a foot.

Your DLI should be around 15-18 for their age. This can be accomplished by raising or dialing back the intensity. The lower the light the tighter the node spacing will be (bushy) just the opposite to increase the node spacing :love_you_gesture:

Okay sweet, I’m currently at 48.8  and I’m two footnish above the canopy

Would switching one of the lights off decrease intensity? Or is that not how it works?

Okay I managed get it down a bit just raised the lights a little more

That’s in two places over the canopies is that better?

Nice job and yes 1 light will work for now. Not sure if the total wattage of your lights but a lot will veg a plant with no problem but not be adequate to produce any substantial bud

One light is 420W the other is 110X2 W (two 110W panels bolted together)

Moving the lights, shutting some off, or a combination of the two is all fine. @OGIncognito has you correct on the DLI measurement and you’ve confirmed my initial suspicion.

There’s a DLI chert out there. I get the concept but I do not put it into practice yet myself. I’m not convinced my Photone app is working right. I’m light bleaching a plant right now and getting like a 22 reading. That’s my first time ever trying an app tho. Use technology but remember what this looks like. Might come in handy in the future!

That’s enough for flowering :love_you_gesture:

Ahhh wicked! That’s a huge relief  was already looking at other lights :grimacing: I’ll stick with what I have atm though see how they turn out, will upgrade if/as I need too :pray:t2: Thanks bro!

Tbh I never paid no mind to DLI on my first couple runs, have never heard of it until just yesterday when it was mentioned :man_facepalming:t3: I’ve always just paid attention to Wattage and Umols lol

I agree with @OGIncognito it definitely sounds like you’ve got plenty of light with those kinds of sensor readings.

I also have never really messed with DLI but I do understand what the values mean and how they are calculated. The main thing to know is that it’s a function of light intensity and time. You can alter either value to achieve the same DLI reading In theory. In practice it’s not that simple but then again it’s not something I practice yet. I’m sure I’ll get there but at this point I been growing for like 15 years and while there’s always room for improvement there’s also clearly something I’m doing correctly without it.

It sounds like you’ve got your problem pretty well narrowed down. I’m sure within a week you’ll be looking great

I think your leaves have good color and overall appear pretty good. I agree with backing lights off too. The nodes stacking on top of each other is indication of more light than is needed.

Okay perfect thanks brother! I’ll shut the lower powered light off For now :pray:t2:
