Help! A week away from harvest

I’m roughly a week away from harvest on my northern lights autos.
Started the flush a few days ago and this started to happen…it’s my first grow so I’m a little confused.
Should I harvest straight away? I have just a few random amber trichomes right now.
Thanks guys…any help would be great!

How often are you watering/feeding? When you say ‘flush’ do you mean just water?

Not sure your ready to harvest just yet need better pics for my opinion!! Hopefully these other guys can help you out with this!! Good luck

Yeah I just started the final flush with plain ph’d water…so far roughly every day and a half to two days for watering and roughly the same when I was giving organic nutes

I agree with @Jarnkat just looking at the amount of white pistols still showing i’d say you’re closer to 3 weeks maybe lil longer. Better pics would help though.

looks like Phosphorous deficiency,
next watering, get em back on the ‘organic’ fert’s.!

them fert’s probably had minimal levels of P in them, when u took her off the fert’s and gave plain water she became deficient.
try a top dressing of high P bat guano in addition to what u were giving.!!

from the pics they look to be 2-4 wks from finished…???

It sounds like they may be overwatered. Are you letting them dry out in between? What medium are you using? Soil? Coco?

Thanks so much for helping guys…like I said it’s my first grow so don’t want to screw up too bad :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I let the soil “almost” dry out in between …it’s fox farm happy frog with the ocean blend at the bottom.
I’ve attached a few pics…hopefully these are a little better, my phone isn’t doing well in the camera department.

@AusinCan Let it get BONE DRY. They should feel as light as a feather. It’ll be obvious! Every 2 days sounds like a lot. How big is your container? I have a 4 x 4 tent that uses soil in 5 gallon pots. Those plants are watered every 7-10 days. I have another tent with plants in coco. Those dry out way quicker! I’d say they get watered every 5-7 days. I prefer coco because you can feed more aggressively!

Loading a single pic at a time will help as well let’s us zoom in further. You’ll want to wait until 75% of those white pistols change colors then you’ll need to invest in a jewelers loupe to check trichs before harvesting. Your plants look nice I’d continue to feed as you regularly do for a bit longer. As a rule of thumb for watering I go by the weight of the bag and will also stick finger in top to first knuckle if dry and or light I water. Feel the weight of the bag after you water to give you an guesstimate on what it feels like heavy. I’m in 5 gallon fabric bags and it’s a every 2-3 days for me as well.

Thanks everyone for their help…I let them dry out a little more and feed them with some phosphorus…it was getting a little worse before that but it has since slowed down the spread. That are starting to smell a little better too!
I will attach a few more photos…I’ll do them one by one so hopefully that helps🤞
Looks like some of the bottom leaves are starting to yellow out as per almost ready to harvest…in my uneducated guess???
The trichomes are looking mainly cloudy with a little bit of Amber in there!
Thanks again guys🙌

I can’t see the trichomes so don’t know far sure but the pistols still look white they should start turning brown most newbies want to harvest early patience is key you really want them to ripen but not over ripen either. IMO you still have a couple of weeks!!! Still on my first grow so get opinions from other more seasoned growers!!!

Mine took 11 weeks from the beginning of flower (pistols) to mature. At the nd most of the white pistils were gone except the leading ones that were from Foxtailing. most of your bud weight will be put on in the last 2-3 weeks so be patient. my autos took 22 weeks from seed to finish.

@Jarnkat @WickedAle are right on the money! Sometimes it can take as long as 12-13 weeks for them to finish flowering. It’s relative to the size of the plant and strain (indica/sativa). They look like they need a little more time. When those pistils start to change to brown/orange you can start to consider it. That curling may be from the light but could also be Nitrogen burn. Be sure to cut down and then cut N altogether during the last couple weeks.

Grab a jewelry microscope and look at those pistils. When they start to get cloudy and turn amber then it’s time!

Most people will wing it and just wait for the pistils all change color. However, you can begin to harvest at different times. Depending on when you’ll get different effects off the same plant. It can be as early as 8 weeks or the entire 13 weeks. Remember, these plants have almost 3-4 months to flower naturally which is about the length of the summer. I bought Critical + specifically because it is an early finisher. Around 7 weeks they are plump and juicy buds. Week 8 they are ready to be cut. Man, I wish I still had a clone of her LOL!!! One DAY…Anyways hope that helps!

Happy Growing!

Sincerely,
Bobby
