For reusing a fabric bag, I would want to wash it with a good amount of bleach like dirty underwear but my wife would not be happy if I stuck those dirty grow bags into our washing machine - hence the throwing out after one use.
With the mesh pots I’d just hose them off and they should be good to go.
I had one fabric bag that the salt or mold (or factory defect thin spot or something) actually ate a silver dollar size hole in the lower side of the bag, could not reuse that bag if I wanted to.
I’ll grow it out, though first instinct was to throw it out, but not much time left, would like to at least get a taste of this plants buds as it smells very sweet and fruity. Turned off the UVA lamps though, don’t want to waste any UVA LED hours on it, also turned down the HLG 550 and 260 some to under 1000 umoles at canopy, no reason to push this plant, also won’t be using anything other than Jacks for the rest of the grow, not wasting my leftover AN goodies on it. Her clone will be culled, line will not continue.
Yeah just got unlucky picking this strain, I had been sitting on these seeds for a while before there were reports of it going hermie.
At this point is there any way you could limit how many more buds seed? Like a way of protecting at least a couple, so if it turns out to be decent tasting you’ll get more than a taste? I like your optimistic view on this situation, I’d probably still be kicking and screaming like a toddler who had his favorite toy taken away
Rock on brother, I’m looking forward to seeing more cherry ice cream growing in your tents that’s some purdy weed
I went over the plant and picked off any nanners that I could see and will continue to do so but it’s a giant plant so I’m sure I did not find all of them, also sprayed the plants with some RO water as water pretty much destroys pollen or at least makes it immobile. Seems a lot of the top buds are pollinated but mid and lowers are a lot less affected so there should some buds not totally seeded and worth smoking.
These things are gonna happen now and then - farmers problems - getting a bad batch of seeds. Having a couple pounds of primo bud in storage makes it easy to stay calm in these situations, the only thing I really lost that I can’t get back is time.
Yes Cherry Ice Cream clone run coming after the Banana Kush and then a Blue Dream clone run. Love the clone runs, no surprises, even canopy, guaranteed results.
The plants have 6 nodes and are ready to be topped. I’m going to cut above the 5th node and trim off the branches from node 1 as I often do. I find node 1 branches are sometimes not worth keeping if they are smaller than the node 2 branches, as they will never catch up and be the shorter branches and your canopy not so even.
So cutting above the 5th node, keep as much stem as possible below the cut, helps the plant not get a weak spot there which could lead to a stem split or infection at that site. Whenever you cut branches off, don’t cut near the main stem, also leave a bit of a nub, keeps the main stem from getting problems.
