Having issues with young plants

Good brand!

Mine is Bluelab. Came with calibration solutions and storage solution. Nice tool. Not too pricey.

I looked at that brand as well

Once I get into it more I’ll up my tools of the trade. Thanks for any and all recommendations and advice.

A 200 watt 6500k t5 setup is great for vegging. But that color temp of bulb doesn’t really trigger plant responses you want for flowering, and the intensity is pretty weak.

This picture is 8 23 watt cfl’s vs one 65 watt quantum board.

True. I’d go with 3500k for flowering. The intensity isn’t there either. I’m using my 400 mh until my 600 watt led arrives. I don’t want to deal with heat and burn a lit of watts. Thanks for the help. I may use an array of lights. T5, led, and possibly a few 65 watt 6500k cfl

Hello, I’m trying new seeds. Autoflower low flyer dwarf. I’m using FFHF in the bottom of a small pear pot, on top of that I’m using Espoma organic seed starter with no npk value or nutrients like the FF has. My question is, how wet should the soil be when I sow the germinated seeds? My plants always get about 1.5-2.5 inches tall and then stop growing. I stay away from over watering due to dealing with dampening off in the past. I’m using 2 2-foot T5 6500k with 2000 lumens each. I keep them about 2-3 inches above plant tops. People say no nutes for 2-3 weeks, I don’t want nute burn like in the past but they need something. I did a flush just to see what the pH is. It’s 6.3-6.5 It’s getting frustrating to say the least. Thanks for help.

Your grow medium should be moist, not soaking wet. I like to moisten my medium evenly, it should not be so moist it clumps or is muddy, then divvy it up amongst my peat pots. I use rapid rooters to germinate, myself, and once germed, my rapid rooter goes into that peat pot. Then I give it another tbsp & pop a dome over it.

With your seeds, do the same. Mist the top of soil & dome a couple times a day. Give 1-2 tbsp of water once a day or once every other day. Keep your germinating seeds someplace warm, too.

So you mist and add rapid rooter to the medium before sowing your seeds?

No. I germinate my seeds in rapid rooters, in a germination station. When they’re ready I put them in a peat.

You don’t have to do it that way, though. A lot of people germinate right in their grow medium.

I soak in cup of water until they sink or 10 hours, then I use the wet paper towel method. Once tap root is exposed I plant them root down into Jiffy peat discs that swell when wet. I leave clear dome on until they emerge, then I remove dome and put under light. They grow a little and die off. Temp around 70-75, oscillating fan on low, etc. They keep dying. The most finicky “weed” I know of. Thanks again though. I just ordered rapid rooter.

Hello, so I bought new seeds. Low flyer dwarf autos. They’re germinated and I sowed them into Espoma organic soil with npk. I have FFHF below the nutrient free Espoma. I’m just curious, should I use a dome or now that they sprouted their tap roots and are sowed, can I place pot container with soil and sowed seeds under my T5 wait until they sprout out of the soil? Thanks
