A customer has a question and I hope we can get some opinions on it, thanks.
“Have you ever heard of striking the base of the plant with a stick or another hard object several times a week or so before harvest to increase the thc in the buds ?”

Lol I have not, but you never know. I don’t like to get that rough with my girls. Now, splitting the stem might be the way to go. 24-48 hours before harvest split the main stem and wedge something in there to keep it apart. Stress the plant builds more THC
Down in the south ppl take a switch to their orange trees and other fruit trees…ppl swear by it…who knows
Haha really? I’ve never heard of anyone beating their plants or trees
Ya,lot of old timers believe that…like if you have a satsuma tree that’s big enough to produce, but isn’t, you take a switch to it,and your supposed to have a harvest next season…worked on my uncle’s satsuma tree a few years back
That’s interesting I’m gonna have to beat my plants up like a bully in school and see what kind of lunch money I can get lol
Some citrus trees respond by cutting some of the roots which gets them to fruit. Not something I’d advocate for mj.
Not completely dissimilar to stem-splitting, which is advocated on this site . . .
Hey Arpeggio,
I would not say the stem splitting is advocated on this site; I would say, “There is an article on this site explaining the potential benefits of stem splitting”.
I do not use this method. Happy growing.
And; NO i have never heard of beating the stem with a stick; However, I can see it being somewhat similar, although different than stem splitting as mentioned.
This topic does not belong in grow journals…Let me see if I can find a more appropriate category.
I’ve heard of “spanking” tomatoes, peppers and eggplant to assist with pollination. It’s supposed to cause them to set more fruit but it doesn’t do a thing to increase trich production that I’m aware of.
Sounds like a terrible act of abuse to subject a lady you’ve cared for for month to a beating bad enough I am going to cut her down then chop her into pieces have we no compassion???
lol I love you guys!
