@Audiofreak I understand… I wish i had switched a couple of years ago… FF was frustrating to me.
How are you doing? Plans for the long weekend?
I dont make long tern plans any more, LOL its my 40 anniversary weekend as well. So im gonna eat, smoke and nap! Not necessarily in that order. LOL
@Audiofreak same here on the no long term plans… But mainly due to our dogs… We don’t like to kennel them and don’t know anyone that will take care of them in our absence.
Two collies:
I usually am the one to stay home with them if there’s a weekend trip. My wife will take the kids… I stay home tend to my grow, play with dogs, trains, video games, and listen to music.
@Audiofreak what does your name mean… Old school stereo, audio system junky? Car system?
Im a AUDIO FREAK! High end Fine Audio! Im weird i dont listen to music …i listen to my system play music! Its all about reproduction of sound. When its right , its a wounderfull thing!
Nice… I love high end equipment and also appreciate the sounds it produces.
In the 70s my older neighbor had a huge rack system with enormous expensive speakers… Played reel to reel. He’d play everything… Airplane sounds… Roaring over your head… Live audience rock concerts… It was awesome.
He… Inadvertently has cost me thousands in equipment through the years.
Its just gotten out of hand with prices. Vintage analog FINE audio equip has gone nuts.
I got bit young at 18 i sold audio equip for a chain store, mid fi stuff. Zoom in on my icon see one of my racks.
My wife would never support a system I desire due to the cost.
But she could never talk me out of a “decent” surround system… Movies, music is better…
Currently…onkyo 7.1 surround with Dolby Atmos. Cannot remember it’s power. Klipsch speakers.
My old rack system blows it away… Though
I solved that problem with the wife early…i just didnt tell her how much! Ignorance is bliss! And what she dosent know cant hurt me!!!
I picked up a set of Klipsch speakers a couple of years ago. They rock!
Had a bunch of Klipsch when i was in my TUBE phase! LOL very efficient
I love my klipsch speakers.
My old ones I had got on a budget… Some 90s Sony tower speakers.
My wife gave me the excuse to replace them when she burned a candle on top of the speaker and didn’t have anything to catch the melting wax… Ruined… Just ruined my speakers… Each had 2 12" woofers… For Sony… They rocked.
My 7.1 is a Sony. Not top of the line, but it puts out good sound. I think my Klipsch speakers have 10" woofers. The are floor-standing tower speakers. I have Bose 501 speakers for my surround system and the bigger Klipsch speakers for the main channels. I ditched the bass speaker. The Klipsch put out plenty of bass.
There’s two systems I wish I’d kept through the years.
My rach Pioneer system which I traded a friend for a pool table… After I got my second wish I still had… My old McIntosh. I cannot remember the model or what I did with it… The 80s & 90s were a blur.
I had a Fisher tube amp (receiver) back in the 70s that I wish I still had. The sound out of it was mush more soft than solid state amps. It got stolen at some point.
Marantz! That’s a throwback. Good stuff.
