Growing Without Carbon Filter

here is the setup i have

I meant flexible duct, I believe it’s called

No, I don’t have pH and TDS meters. I’m really not looking for the best yield right now, just for getting started

I started that way too.

Without properly pH ing they may not make it to harvest. What type of grow medium are they in? What do you plan to use for nutrients?

Just some store bought soil that I’ve used for years, to be honest. It’s always been of great quality when I’ve used it for tomatoes (yes, tomatoes :D), cucumbers, etc.

I’ve used “MONSTER BUD MIX ORGANIC FERTILIZER” (from Zamnesia.com) for nutrition.

Nice. I’m not familiar with that so I can’t weigh in on it. But I was mostly just checking to make sure you’re not using any type of slow release fertilizer that isn’t designed to be cannabis friendly.

You should start a journal and keep it updated. We always love following along gardens around here. It’ll also make it easy to keep all of your questions or advice in one place.

Good luck!

Thanks for your help!

Is there any way to not have to use the flexible duct?

Ish. You could hook the filter and fan together suspended from the ceiling of the tent and just attach the vent sock directly to it. It would blow out into whatever room it is filtering scent. But you would be dumping expended air very close to the tent which isn’t typically recommended

It’s not impossible it just wouldn’t do as good of a job bringing the stale air away and allowing fresh air in

I am literally stupid when it comes to putting stuff together, so as easy as possible, haha.

When I got into this, I knew I wouldn’t get maximum yields, but I thought a fabric pot, soil, water, seed & sunlight was sufficient

Does this setup look good? There’s no description, except “ECO160 100mm”. It’s pretty cheap, which I like.

It’s the right type of kit. Some are automated, some not. Some variable… I’m sure it would work. Some cost less to run. I’m not honestly the best for comparing products. I usually trade what I grow for equipment upgrades and try to get the best recommended on this forum.

Plenty of people may know that exact product, it’s just not me

I wanted to automate so that was important for me after my first kit.

@Churchill to answer your first ? Yes you will need to get an in-line fan same size of carbon filter. It slips right on I put a piece of electrical tape around mine for air tight seal. And yes you will need a dryers hose to run from in your tent to outside of tent.
Something like that would work, but it doesn’t seem to have a dial to control fan speed.

@Churchill I’m new to this game as well, here’s how mine setup looks. I vented it out the window with a side by side fan to create negative air in the room while the bedroom door is shut and I can attest to the fact that at this point my girls smell wonderful and my house doesn’t lol.

@Churchill

Girls are throwing up their first flower pistols now, hence the lovely scent and icky sticky lol.
