Wait so those beans from Mace are trash then or is this just nonsense shit im just waking up and confused lol
@Gl1tch sorry for taking over you’re thread buddy lol
Seeds legit. All parents were from his verified packs not cuts. A fellow breeder followed the grow. This stirred up some shit last night. Anyway, his least sarcastic response was the last line.
it’s all good, I like seeing what everyone else is up to as well.
Perfect i was like fck me for a second lol
All 4 broke ground yesterday. That makes 3 days since starting the soak so it seems running 75 degrees for germination hasn’t made a damn bit of difference this round, although I have been keeping the RH relatively high since they went into the soil around 80%. Now that I can see cotyledon on them all I’ll start raising vpd a little. I must say I’m loving the new controls, even if it has taken 2 days to get it all dialed in. Still no sign of the puck so I may start a few more hash plant before these get too far along and I end up weeks apart.
What’s the method you are going to use to make your hash? Decided yet?
Controller worth every penny huh?
This thread really has me questioning genetics. Im about over wasting my time with instability. Until i get off autos this probability will more than likely always be increased.
This is why I’m stoked about this NL run. Be a chance to go full course.
Mostly bubble, but I’m curious about making a temple ball with some static tech so I’ll have to waste some time and try that too.
Good luck with that! I’ve tried a few times. Let me know what you do and how it worked!!
I had some decent success with my first attempt. I threw up some progressive macro pics in post 647. My main issue is that I need to build some better screens and frames. I was using my bubble making gear and a 5 gal bucket is kinda small to work with. I just finished a pretty poor run so I may sift a bunch of it to refine the method some more once I get some screens built.
I got the first round of HP transplanted into 1gal pots and I started some more in coco over the last few days. The second round of beans seems to be going a little slower than the first. The only thing I did different is I forgot to inoculate the seeds when I pulled them out the the soak. Now I’m curious if the inoculation made the difference or if it was something else that changed and I didn’t notice.
Doubt they mycos made the difference. They take 2-3 wks to develop and begin symbiosis.
Edit: I’d bet root temp difference between media.
Good point, I didn’t think about the time it takes to propagate. Perhaps temp, but I germinated them all in paper towels also in a tightly controlled environment. They are all in a large germination dome with relatively tight ambient control. The second round took an extra 12hr or so to get a good reticle. Not a big deal, I just always wonder why these things happen.
Temp in towels/dome same above ground but you need to consider media variation. Soil generates its own heat. I would bet that it’s about 1-1.5° warmer than coir. If curious, probe both for temp.
I’ve been keeping track of soil temp, but I just popped them in the coco last night so I haven’t taken any temps in it yet. I’ll be checking that out in a couple hours when the lights come on. Maybe I should set up separate areas in the future if I continue to run both at the same time. Or maybe I’ll finally break down and get a heating mat.
I’ve tried several brands. The ACinfinity has mostly even heating. Slowly replacing all of the others with their far-infrared film
good to know, The entire reason I don’t use them was because I had issues with hot spots with the first few and then one that melted the first time I plugged it in so said f this and gave up. Maybe I’ll add that to the list of the next round.
So a one degree difference is a variable in germ? Seems so minute.
I would argue that if you have the ability to control things to that degree then you might as well, but babies are sensitive especially in the root zone.
It’s the only explanation that I could reason to explain the small variation between the two media. That tiny extra bit of heat provides additional root expansion and it increases the micro heard activity.
