Well xmas came and went for another year.
We only 2 sleeps before 2024
The rain i got that broke our absence of rain this summer thw day before xmas sadly brought more than rain
It brought the development of bud rot
When i found it i went into action before the next rain a few days ago.
28th December 2023
3 more sleeps and we will have a new year.
Well people the day before our Christmas we got our first real rain on my autos. Just shy of an inch over night pretty much.
The autos cant be far off now i dropped the seeds on the 17th September
So on my next opportunity go check on the girls i see that dreaded dead leaf poking out the cola on a couple plants sure enough the dreaded rot was setting in so i quickly removed what i could see.
The forecast ofcourse now that im approaching harvest is looking dodgy.
So what to do
Then i get a brain wave
Cover them
With what
Plastic
Yer nar
Then my wife has an idea put up the gazebo over them.
Perfect so thats what ive done

Update
Sun is back so ive peeled back the canopy to let the sun in while it lasts
More rain over night and tomorrow
Then the new year starts with sunshine
Yay.
Found more rot this morning
Mostly in wang dang psidium pu-tang
She also had a broken top on another leader.
Here the before and after shot of trimming it.
And the other strain was purple lotz lizard
While trimming it wasn’t too bad and with my poor eyesight i probably mistaken the purple coming through as rot the top stem was fractured anyway
Here is the before and after trim.
So trimming season begins it would seem.
The leaves are chunky so not too bad to trim very sticky
Just give them a bath in some lovely h2o2 and let them dry out slowly

Oh no, sorry to hear about the bud rot finding the colitas again. Always a gut punch in my opinion. Hope the gazebo will help reduce the issue and more sunny days arrive soon. Keep the h2o2 handy and wash em when they’re ready.
