my roomate is moving out next month, dedicating that whole room for it…yeah i got the bug for sure…im so impatient, wish mine looked as good as yals, it doesnt help im off work the next 2 months…cant wait to show yal my progress…tried germinating 2 auto sour diesel seeds in a cup of water, niether of them popped after 72hrs and 1 purple kush as well…so i waited another 48hrs and still nothing…tried planting them after that and nothin…
Try moving those beans straight 2 the soil or medium of your choice it will probably pop

after they didnt pop in the water i planted them gave them afew days and they still didnt…i just wanted to do it the way ilgm recommended first…i put a different one straight into the soil and popped after afew days

I start mine in a folded paper towel in a ziploc and after 24hrs or so I generally have a tail, then I plant it.
I usually lay it on the computer, I’ve heard people say the cable box, just somewhere kind of warm.I lay an envelope or something over it to keep it dark - nothing heavy.
I generally open the ziploc after 6-8hrs and leave it cracked for some air exchange.

i tried that years ago, but either i used shitty paper towels or left them to long…
when i checked them the taproot was growing into the paper towel and couldnt free it without fucking it up…speaking of fucking up the ones in the 3 lil pots i just transplanted, i had them growing in the bottomhalf of 20ounce coke bottles, i checked them earlier and the roots were growng out the holes i put on the bottles…b4 i put them in the bottles i cut of the bottoms and taped them back on thinking i could just take the tape off remove the bottom and slide them in their new pot…it didnt go as planned…i hope i didnt fuck em upProcessing: D175FD2D-93DD-47C3-B3E3-850C7FB2C4D3.jpeg…

They’re looking good. You could dome them for a day or two but otherwise you’re just waiting for the roots to grow some.
There are benefits to up-potting the plant as opposed to going straight to final pot.
With my current seed grow I’m going from Solo cups to 1g bags then to 2- 5g and 1- 3g for their final homes.
I’ll probably veg for 8 weeks. Maybe less, just depends on when they tell me they’re mature and ready.
I’m in no rush!

wow, didnt realize it would make that much of a difference, prolly gonna do solo cup for the next ones, i think i messed up by using the 20 ounce bottle as a planter…think that bend in the bottle fucked me up…so it didnt slide out easily… u poke holes in ur cup? how many and where? tried adding a picture but it keeps crashing

I actually use a clear Solo inside a colored Solo - you don’t want the roots exposed to the direct light too long. I take a small bit and drill about 6 or 8 holes in the bottom of the clear cup. I also drop a plastic bottle cap in the colored Solo so the clear one has a little bit of drainage and air circulation underneath.
With the clear cup there’s no guessing when you need to re-pot since you can see the roots! LOL!
I always make sure I have several holes in the lowest part of the cup since they’re molded with ridges and domes and whatever in them.
When you start getting bigger roots the spray bottle won’t do the trick anymore so I want to make sure I have good drainage for when I have to give a good deep watering. If you don’t have moisture all the way to the bottom of the cup the roots have no reason to go there so they don’t.
I horribly under-watered my first grow and all my roots were in the top 2 inches and very little below.
The better the roots you have at transplant the less time for the plant to expand the roots into the fresh medium it gets exposed to in a larger container. In the end the plant above ground grows more vigorously too.
And hey - I think it’s one of the more stupid rules - given the nature of what the site is all about - but the F-bomb(even that makes me feel stupid and juvenile) will eventually get a reminder from a mod.
It’s stupid as hell, but apparently someone is really offended by that arrangement of letters. Which is all it is!! There’s 1000 other ways to say the exact same thing! To me it should be about context, but to the powers that be it’s just a “naughty” word.
So friggin’ stupid. I know…but just letting you know!

I 2nd the clear solo cup inside the colored 1. Allowing your plant to get root bound can stunt there growth and over watering can kill a young seedling.

i noticed when i tried to get them out of the 20ounce coke bottles i planted the in…the soil was completely dry 1/4 inch down from the top…i clearly didnt put enough holes in the bottle…i tried soaking the soil all the way down so the soil wouldnt fall apart when i transplanted even after doing that it was still dry as hell…im gonna do it ur way next time, thanks for the info bro…learning alot from you
Yeah. it’s like the straight smooth sides kinda direct the flow downwards.
I actually get my cups ready a few hours in advance and soak them good with water and let them drain. I’ll gently squeeze the cups to get most of it back out. I just want it moist, not soggy at all.
When I drop the sprout in the hole and cover it I give the top a couple of spritzez to help soil settle on the root and get them in contact with the moisture.
Spritz the inside of my dome, which is just a clear Solo cut off so I can get it inside the lower one snugly, put it over the plant and under a weakish light or in a shady spot under another plant until they got a good set of leaves. Then it’s on!

i recently germinated 2 sour diesel, i made sure that the soil i was using was damp by filling it up with water and letting it drain, (which i didnt do when i planted my first five seeds…lol) but when i planted the sour diesel i put it under the light i was using for my other plants…did i mess up by putting it under that strong of a light?
