Someone recommended cutting up a raw potato and put it on top of your soil. Change when nasty haha!
Your girls are looking great isn’t it a good feeling when they come up
That really works if they are fungal knats
They look great! In a few weeks you wont know by looking how tiny she was. In my case the runt has always become one of the biggest.
Yeah I got one hanging currently. A buddy gave me one that you lay down flat. Going to throw that one in the tent as well. Hoping I can position it so that it covers a portion of each one of the pots so if they try landing on it they get stuck.
Hoping giving the tent a good cleaning will help as well. I may even move the plants to another room for a few days and see if the bugs die down.
I’ll give this a shot if the infestation persists. Hoping I can get it under control by giving the tent a good cleaning.
My last grow I had the same thing happen, had a small plant that ended up being the biggest of the bunch.
These seeds are very resilient they seem to bounce back from a lot of abuse lol.
Update Jan 20
Lady’s are getting bigger. Going to transplant tomorrow. I prefer going right from the starter pots to there final Home, this grow I’m going to try softpots for the first time.
The runt is starting to come into it also.
Still have pests, I think they are fungus gnats, sticky paper is getting t a lot of them but still enough of them around, I’m going to try the potatoes and see if that helps.
Anyone have any opinions about going straight to 5 gallon smart pots? I’ve only ever done it this way so Input is nice.
Here are some updates pics.

I’m more of a fan of transplanting up to prevent the plant from being over watered.
Looking good…
@Jmesser80 yes, straight into the fabric pots is best. It also allows for proper root growth before flowering.
Try a small bowl of apple cider vinegar as well. That catches a lot of them too. But not all fly. That’s why you need food grade DE or need oil spray to get them in the soil. The potatoes will draw them out of the soil too but a multi pronged attack is best!
I go straight to 5 gallon soft as well!
And as @Myfriendis410 pointed out you need to be careful not to over water them initially.
I go straight into 5 gallon as i feel its less stress. Basic watering 250-400 ml around stem use my knuckle to check for dryness, mist them but transplanting up gradually or not is personal preference mine due to its worked for me twice & Daddy always said “If it aint broke why fix it?”
You are knowledgeable and experienced so no reason why not do it that way. I find it hard for me to control the desire to water the crap out of them haha! That’s why I do it.
Boo, you are way too kind! I have seen your beauties & know your ability to grow. I started out being so careful not to hurt them. Now im tying down, cutting off heads, shaking , pushing a stake thru them, purposely breaking them. What a difference a grow can make. Lol
Need some advice from you. Really want to get some s diesel but is the mildew problem a large problem? On ilgm seed shop its says it can be a problem
You can definitely wait for @Myfriendis410 opinion, but mold, mildew, and bud rot all become more of an issue with larger producing plants. They’re generally producing more dense buds which are in turn more sensitive to moisture. The greater your environmental controls are, the less likely you are to have an issue.
@dbrn32 is right about bud density re the Sour Diesel but it was no more prone to mildew than any of the other strains I tried. Environmental control is the ticket for sure. I run a dehumidifier which pretty much eliminates mold as a major issue.
And it is a heavy producer. Moderate potency. Delicious! Lol.
After first harvest i learned All about humidity!!! Got a dehumidifer & a humidifer. Love the strain!
