Hey I got a similar style roof on my greenhouse. I used 40 percent shade cloth just on top the rest is 6mi greenhouse plastic. I was warned about that shade affecting my yeild and potency but I didn’t listen. The plants grew fantastic! But it did affect the potency. So if you’re looking to grow good strong weed you need to go with something else on your roof. I’m replacing my shade cloth with more plastic. You gotta have direct sunlight.

@W.B.elpaso I agree, I’ll get East/West direct sun in the morning afternoon and South evening. Poly will protect from 10-2 from UV and I hope keep some heat down. Right now all is at a standstill, we just had a bad ass ice storm that knocked out 140,000 homes power. I was lucky and we got our power back after 14 hrs. second day at 5:00 120,000 still in the cold. Temp 25 feels like 15. Something like this next year might be tragic. I lost my winter crop when it got down so cold and it was inside. Oh well its a new year. I think I’m going with PVC hoops.

That’s a terrible storm! Looks like you got it under control on the roof stuff. I still gotta fix mine. But it’s to damn cold here too. Staying inside. Staying lit.

How we coming on the greenhouse?

@2GreenThumbs Tomorrow is the day, temps suppose to be in the 60s, I’m over my bout with covid and omicron, first time I have been able to breath in a year and a half. Smelled the rain the other day and almost brought tears to my eyes. Got to smell my girls for the first time since they flowered. Tomorrow I finish the top plate and start working on the hoops. I have the fittings and one side put together. Now all I have to do is build the gables and stretch some fabric. I want to be ready to use it for spring. :sunglasses:

So sorry Cat! That omicron strain is a rough one! It hit me hard and I was down for a month. Take it easy my friend!

@JaneQP @Flitme @W.B.elpaso Thanks for the kind words, its good to be on the mend. I had the Original Covid 19 and then just when I thought I was getting better I came down with the omicron which was a walk in the park compared to the Covid19. Now I’m looking at heavy thunderstorms and woke up today looking at a tornado watch, when the nice temps are over its going down to the 30F at night and high of 40 :scream: I’m a tough old bean I just can’t wait to get back to work. Whoever said whatever don’t kill ya makes ya stronger is full of crap. I just hope someones not trying to tell me something. My Grandpappy always said you wouldn’t know the good if you didn’t have the bad. I’m gonna grow some killer weed!!!

Feisty spirit you got from your grandfather! I believe our whole family had the original before testing was available back in March of 20. Omicron got us over Xmas. Mask mandate lifted here but I still wear one and use lots of sanitizer.

I didn’t really lose smell but nothing tasted good.

I tested + 1/1/2021, I had all the symptoms and they would come and go in about a month except my smell and taste. They wanted to put me in the hospital but thats where the sick go to die. I came down with the omicron in Nov. of last year. Had all the vaccines thats prob. why the last one didn’t last long. Mrs. Cat is a sub.teacher elementary I’m sure thats where I got it. I don’t think anyone knows for sure how long it lasts everyone is different. With all the controversy about the Vac. shot I say it can’t hurt, take that from someone who’s had the sever. Don’t think forcing it on people is right, we should have a choice, my choice is take the shot. Got to mention I’m 64 and the cut off date was 65, apparently me and all the 18yo had to wait to get the shot and then it was the J&J

@Cat1 Our household was fully vaccinated and 6 of 8 of us got sick. Most were sick for about a week. I got hit the hardest with a month of symptoms - I had some breathing issues for a while but not severe. We think it might have come from a trip to the grocery store or to get gas. Even with mask mandates about 30% were not wearing them.

My grandma always said something similar to that it was “You have to have the rain to appreciate the sunshine. I am anxious to show my next grow and see your greenhouse come together!! Glade again that you are feeling better!!:v:

@JaneQP Glad to hear you made it through the storm, without getting political I understand how the immune system is suppose to work, the body produces white blood cells to fight germs, viruses ect. The vaccine is not a cure it’s just a boost for the blood cells. Masks are for keeping germs from leaving not coming in. Thats why surgeons aren’t suppose to operate when they are sick. I’m a believer if you can smell a fart with a mask on a virus germ is a lot smaller. No cure for the covid when I caught it so I just fought it with moonshine. :tumbler_glass:
