Grand Daddy Purple Bruce Banner (Cross) UK

I had ordered some genuine AK 47 from Serious Seeds via a seed bank found in the UK and got some freebie beans. They were marked GDP&BB. I thought it was Grand Daddy Purple & Big Bud. Sent them an email asking about them …they responded that these were actually Grand Daddy Purple & Bruce Banner. Popular in the UK, but originally bred in Spain. We just popped the beans yesterday, and as you can tell, I’m 100% confident these are gonna pop soon … so stay put, coming soon, Grand Daddy Purple&Bruce Banner.

Thanks, these are by far the most exciting freebies I’ve gotten to date. I’ve been wanting to grab a few beans of the two separately already, you can imagine my excitement when I realized what these were. See how It goes.

And we have life my friends… The beans have sprouted in both 7 gallon pots. The little guy popping out in the seed starting pod there to the right is the GDP&BB. Her surrounding buddy’s are the cover crop I planted a few days ago. We will be chopping and dropping them. We will have a natural mulch layer by the time the ladies go into flower, that’s the plan anyways. I’ve always gone half way with this approach and then go with something else but this round I’m gonna see how far this cover crop takes me.

I found a natural supplement of Magnesium for these guys, I didn’t dry amend this new soil with anything as it’s super rich on it’s own. Bloom Sea Minerals is an organic supplement that can be used with any feeding program. Stuff is super potent, 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons of water. See how that works out and if I can forgo the use of any Cal Mag is what I’m hoping for here. We’ll see. The ladies have grown a gang of new friends around them.

Looking good to me. What soil are you using for these? I’m still fairly new to growing (going on 2 years), I haven’t figured out this Cal MAg thing. And I think it has something to do with my soil and/or tap water too. Just using the cal mag alone without adding the soil and water to the equation gets a little rough in the description on how to use the stuff. If you use to much your plant turns grey and dies, not enough then you get the yellowing of leaves with the dark green veins… sigh… and I’m understanding you need more so because of the led lighting. Something about these led lights that’s missing from say the old standard HPS lighting. You don’t see outdoor growers needing to use Cal Mag, Not that often anyways. So what to do? Should we Cal MAg once a week to be safe or just wait it out until we see a deficiency?

Thanks, i am using Roots Organics Original. Probably need to feed after these at 30 days? As for CalMag i havnt a clue. This is my 1st indoor w led. Way back (70s 80s) i did outside and HPS inside. Gave em some bat poop and back yard black dirt. Genetics were weak/poor but we liked it!.. lol,
I need lots of advice for these new indoor super genetics. And i am stoked. I just cant wait to medicate. Alohaaaa,

Aloha @Robbtower1 …thanks for chiming in, I’ve forgotten so much and then get reminded when I remember… lol, I’m thinking two weeks before you plan on flipping is a good time to feed if your doing dry amendments. I had to look up your soil…wow…there is a lot in there, looks like a super soil mix, very nice. No wonder your ladies look happy. I’m hoping I can help and it seems like you could help me out here too, 70’s 80’s… I can’t beat that, The closest thing to growing in the 80’s was when a buddy of ours walked in the house with a pound of weed in a large bag…we were like holy motha fu#n sh*t dude…

I’m in a Happy Frog and Ocean Forest mix right now, no dry amendments added initially, I figured the Ocean Forest alone could carry these ladies and it has, until a few days ago. Like a light switch Magnesium deficiency big time. Caught me off guard and a kick to the nuts. I don’t hide my grows when they go bad, you can look up my last grow a few months back. I hermied and got some kind of fungus attack …that was an Egyptian plague of the worst kind. But… I’ve had some really good grows too. Comes with the territory. I saw someone out there at Mr. Nice spraying (water kelp mix) on his young ladies and I had to ask about any potential problems doing that and he replied that no, the air flow in the tent would dry up the mist off the leaves before any potential damage could be done. So I looked up Cal Mag deficiency and one way to feed it to your ladies is spraying it on the leaves. I’m not a big foliar feed guy…but…I’ll try shit just to learn something sometimes. So I’ve been spraying a very light cal mag solution on the leaves these past two days. Poor things look neglected right now .

I agree with you there! I’m just learning myself but if my mistakes can help someone in the future then it all works out!

I’m gonna try out some amino acid supplementation soon, it’s to my understanding that the plants can and do create their own amino acids at the root zone level, and that a little reinforcement and push from the grower could go a long way into the health and benefit to the plant the same. My hopes is that it will increase calcium utilization that’s abundant in the soil from the hard tap water I’m using.
