Got any idea? Good or bad

Gave the girls a drink and seen something. Then laid down some stick traps and got the scope out. Didn’t take long for them to get a decent amount on them.

Can you increase the magnification any? Soil based or on the plant?

Soil base. when I was watering looked like something clear or white moving around the soil. The crackles during watering makes some crackles and see some pockets release as the water moves into the soil. So got froggy. Laid some traps down and they just starting covering the sticky traps. I’ll try for a better photo. I’ll pull one of the stick traps

Look like 2 feeler tips at the head. Walks like caterpillar like walking.

Look like baby spring tales to me. Can be beneficial, however I’ve also had them eat tap roots.

When I came across them the youngins were mostly clear

Think just leave some traps for a few days keeps them thin?

They are actually kind of difficult to get rid of without repeat treatment. They are usually in the medium rather than on top. At least until they become adults. Let me tag a couple growers who might have suggestions or advice.

Is it ok to move this to my journal?

I don’t know if a way one can merge topics without moderator intervention.

In the meantime you can copy and paste the first post into your journal

These definitely look like springtails to me they can be a PITA to get rid of at times best way ive tound is Diatomaceous Earth and also introducing a couple good dry backs Springtails are attracted to organics mater and moisture/humidity for the most part some DE along with some dry backs should whip them into shape

I haven’t dealt with those before. I thought maybe you were seeing the larvae from fungus gnats but low & lie are probably spot on with their thoughts.

BTI knock ‘em back. I’ve never found them to be an issue in my pots with plenty of organic material to consume. My worm bins do need to have them knocked back from time to time if it gets overly moist from feedings.

BTI gets anything small enough. I even used to kill BSF larve from a soil bin in garage.
