Yep, they’ll be doing their 3 week stretch now. Not too late for the net, I don’t get my girls on the net until I move them into the flower tent anyway, just to spread out the branches some and act as support later when the tops get really heavy. I’d be doing some trimming now, look thru your plants, reduce the small branches in the lower half and interior of the plant so they can concentrate growth on the larger branches and tops. After the stretch is a good time to do a major defoliation, get rid of all the large fan leaves so all your bud sites get lots of direct light. though I do a good bit of that before getting them on the net as it can be harder once they are in the net, specially getting to the lower stuff.
I cleaned out a bunch of lower stuff but wasn’t sure how far down to go. I left most stuff that was 3 to 4 nodes down from the top. was that to much? I can’t even see a bunch of that now the leaves are getting so big.
Sounds good, think you are good to go then.
I think the site may be having issues. Photos arent showing up in posts for me. @dbrn32
If you see anything in those photos that should be trimmed out let me know by all means please. thanks.
welp/ flooded the grow room for the first/ hopefully last time.
I noticed the humidity was going up in the grow room. I went back on the other side of the 4x8 to check the 4x4 and stepped in a puddle of water. I had forgot to turn of the Ro system when my water drum was full and it had been slowly over flowing and running down the side of the wall to the lowest point in the room. Luckily that path took it along side the 4x8 and not under it and down in front of the 4x4 not under it. Then out down the side of the 4x4 and not under it.
So I managed to escape with no tents getting wet or being electrocuted . (KEEP THOSE ELECTRICS OFF THE GROUND!)
The boxes for my backup 8" filter and T8 fan did get wet. However It could have been 100x worse.
Let me look around, this is first complaint I’m seeing. In the past when there is issue with software it’s always been large group within the community. When a single person has an issue, it has always been a settings or connection issue.
everything seems fine now. I ran a trace route at the time and saw some strange hops so maybe it was packet loss.
I was having some issues with the site the other day as well. Seems to have straightened out
The girls are showing me their goods I do believe.
these deals are shooting out all over the place. these are the calyxes correct?
Girls everywhere!
Pistols I believe
thats what I meant lol
Just had a huge temp jump. temps went from 81 to 87 on one probe at leaf level on the tallest. random hydrometer showed 85 and one under canopy is showing 81F. I have had the dehumidifier running all day and then realized I had dropped into the 40s in rh. The pots have all got light fast so that had probably contributed to the drop in RH and higher temp. lights out is in 15 minutes so thatll fix that.
I had upped the lights to to 230w today from 215w so the added temps from that are also a factor. I dialed down the lights to help drop the temps for this last 30 minutes of lights on.
And there’s the rub,. I need the warm dry air from the dehumidifier to to bring down RH. However that and the increased light output is driving up the heat. I have this issue of not being able to vent the exhaust outside and am just conditioning it and re-circulating the air. Totally not optimum and was told it wouldnt work. now I see why. So now everything is a fight.
I see a rough road ahead here with the rest of this grow. If I cant crank the lights It will effect the yield but going to high drives up the temps. That and the pots have dried out as watering day is tomorrow.
I will have to find the light output balance with RH and temps. at a cerain point I can crank the T8 all the way up and it doesnt vent any more heat. thats about 7 where the curve flattens out.
Luckily white widow likes high temps.
I have a similar issue going on. My temps are regularly 85 throughout the day due to the extra wattage and the dehumidifier. I’ve just kinda settled for 55-60% humidity instead of 40 by setting the dehumidifier to a higher RH to try and just stall for a couple weeks until the daily temperature highs are regularly below 70 f. I pull air from a much cooler room but the lights on full blast raise the temps 13-15 degrees easy.
Yep. I was warned it would turn into a thing. now it’s here. If I only had a window Or a vent. but alas I do not.
I am having to put in 2 gallons now into my not quite 5 gallon pots to get 20% runoff. I don’t even get runoff with a gallon, ever. I have never seen runoff with a gallon of water not one time. I might get some runoff with 1.5 gallons but no where near 20%. I used 8 to 12 quarts of perlite to a bag… maybe the perlite I used is just smaller? I dunno. It’s irritating as hell to see people saying they are in 7 gallon pots getting runoff with a gallon or 1.5. I just don’t get it.
\I can tell I have a boat load of roots. the pots feel gnarled when you run your hand over the outside. The bottom of the pots are solid. the make a watermelon thump sound when you knock on them.
Maybe I packed my soil to tight when I transplanted. I know I did. I was stressed about it after.
If I only had to give my plants 1 gallon of water a watering I would be a happy camper.
I have straight FFOF in 5 gallon pots and I only get a small amount of run off with 1.5 gallons. I have been experimenting with only giving 1.5 gallons and just allowing the run off to evaporate just to make the whole watering process easier and haven’t had any issues yet. As for the roots I would expect by now your 5 gallons are nothing but roots. I stopped finger testing the soil because the roots have invaded every inch of soil. Sticking your fingers in tears a root carpet that’s formed in my pots.
that moment when you put the net on for the first time and realize you should have defoliated a lot more.
