PLEASE HELP i have a serious gnat issue, I’ve used cedar mulch DE apple cider vinegar traps, those nasty sticky fly strips and still seriously infested, I removed all plants from the tent vacuumed and cleaned with bleach
I use cloth pots and they seem to like rest on them so I took all pots scrubbed them down with peroxide and little dawn dish soap, 24 hours latter I have dead gnats all over the floor but my infestation is still there
Is there a flush I can use safely to flush my medium as they very present in

I use a soil drench of 20% hydrogen peroxide and water.Also spread diatomaceous earth on top of soil,it cuts them up.Also place a sticky pad in planters.It can take a couple treatments to eradicate them.

From the pics looks like fungus gnats, they love organic soil. A lot of growers use the mosquito bits and I had them on my last grow and within a week gnats were gone. Top dress the pot soil with the bits and sew them into your medium a bit and during watering and feeding the bits will go to work

Like @Weedlover1 i cover the top of pot with Diatomaceous Earth along with the mosquito bits
Overwatering can set up good conditions for gnats. Be sure that you are not overwatering.
While hydrogen peroxide will kill gnats, it will also kill the beneficial microbes in you soil.

I must say , I’m not using soil I’m using coco peat mix, though everything I use is organic I’m starting to think my banana tea is attracting them maybe feeding them I put DE down maybe not enough because I’m worried about clogging, I don’t have room in the planters to put gnat trap cards up the apple cider vinegar seems to be doing OK around pots
I’m going to get the bits and give it a shot
In a worse case scenario what can theses little pest do to my plants

If you don’t get them under control they can stress your plants and even cause them to herm.They will cut your yield also.

Well that makes sense to me due to what’s going on I only have 4 autos in flower others are still young , I’m sure I’m taking a loss on at least one plant , she got really light and hairs turned amber fast the rest just seemed like they just slowed down
Got the bits extracted about 8 table spoons 3 times crossing my fingers hoping this gives me about 10 gallons , I’m sure it’s going to take more than one application

One other thing , imo …when a plant slows down as it has when it shouldn’t during flower could be a sing pollination, crossing my fingers I’ll be doing more examinations…peace

I had them on first run in soil and i used sns209. Mixed it up a bit strong and soaked the piss oit of the dirt and leave it be. Even being in coco if it looks still real wet uptop leave it one more day. Small.plants in coco do not need watered daily as they are not drinking that much yet. While small until plant leaves reach outsides of pots i just water everyother day unless it seems to be needing to be watered. Dont let it dry out but dont over due it.

I’m gonna try those “Mosquito Bits.” I’ve never heard of them. I have been using tobacco water. I fill up a coffee filter with pipe tobacco from the store and run the coffee maker. Then i have a whole pot of tobacco water. I dump it into a spray bottle and after watering or feeding, i saturate the soil. It has seemed to really cut down on them little annoying gnats. I first tested the spray on a runt plant i had and it didn’t effect the plant, even being covered, leaves and all. So i figured spraying it into the soil wouldn’t hurt. It hasn’t but the nicotine kills the bugs. I just want to try Mosquito Bits though because i fear that the nicotine is also killing the “good” microbes and/or bacteria in the soil.
That’s one i sprayed on a shelf with the tobacco water and it died immediately. I believe it’s a fungus gnat. The picture is zoomed in with a magnifying app.
Bits don’t directly Kell them, I still had the issue , it was not nearly as bad though, the bits have helped , I broke down and flushed with peroxide and seem to have gotten them out of my medium I don’t like flushing with peroxide but it had to be done , after flush I soaked with nutrients and micro nutrients, washed down outside of pots again with a water peroxide dawn dish soap solution
The only sign of those pesty things were dead on the floor , but only time can tell if they are gone for sure

TripleD you are my hero, after my last attempt to get control I go no , so went got cheap pipe tobacco made some tobacco tea put in a spray bottle and I’m having a field day of killing them, I have not attempted to drench the medium just yet , I’ll do that as a last resort

You are most welcome brother! I’m glad it helped out. Like i said, it’s been good for me, but idk if it’s bad for the plant while she’s flowering. I can’t see any bad reactions from the current spraying, so i don’t think it’ll hurt. Cheers!

The mosquito bits only kill the larvae you need to use a combo to kill them all.

I’m not spraying the plant directly maybe a bit at the bottom I use fabric pots they seem to love them so I sprayed them all down and watched a lot of them die, I did a weak solution fed each enough to soak the surfaces, crossing my fingers though as I put plants back I didn’t see anything flying around but I’ve been fooled before will give update after 24 hours
