Hi fellow gromies lol my question is glass in or out with light hood im using a cool tube… Im also still trying to figure out how to use this forum lol.
I also use a cool tube for my 1000watt, if ur talkin about an extra peice of glass besides the cool tube, i would leave out.
The more glass light goes thru the more intensity it will remove. If that made sense lol less stuff for light to go thru the better
Yes mine has the glass in if i take it out will it still be able to extract the heat? I already had to dim the light to 75% becuz of a little bleaching up top.
I will post pics after 5 per dark period now and cant upload from phone.
It will probly pull some heat still but NOT nearly as effective ofcourse. I also have my other room with 3 400watt lights and NO cool tubes, I can still control the heat effectivly. So I say try it and if heat is a prob then put it back.
But not sure why u want to remove it, espec if u have it turned dwn already
I would run it with the glass in there exspecially if u already have it turned down
Thanks. yeah I think thats best 4 now this is day 1 of week 6 flower. I’ll put pics up soon. I just built this stand 4 the next grow. I will be doing ebb and flow with bergmans gold leaf and gsc extreme autoflower with gh nute line.
Not sure I really understand what your trying to explain… would have to see your setup…
The whole purpose of the tube is so you can pull air through it to keep it cool so that it can be placed closer to the canopy…
Mind you that I run 8 inch xxxl hoods with an 8 inch 950 cfm fan pulling all the air through all of my hoods… but plants can literally touch the glass with no harm…
And room temps are easy to control even when its 130 degrees outside with a simple window rattler ac unit…
Just seen your latest pics… leave the glass in…
I was reading that the glass reduces the quality of the light thats all im new so really idk but i had to dim the light bcuz the top of the main lady looked bleaching .
The light loss is so minimal that it defeats the purpose of buying a cooled hood if you remove the glass…
I think it’s like a 2% loss in light intensity…
Not a big deal when it cost way less to run your ac and all of your other equipment because you leave the glass in…
With cmh and mh, they provide uv-b I think. The glass blocks that from getting through
Thanks for the info. I will remember that for the next grow.
