I’m in need of helpful advice on growing Girl scout cookies. I was wondering how much do they stretch? My area to grow in is only 60 inches tall.
I just grew a GSC Beast. She managed to hit 6 feet tall and just as wide. I do run a 12/12 schedule from start to finish.
She yielded 8 z’s dried and cured. Don’t ever underestimate a GSC. You should do a Scrog set up as this will keep her contained. My tent is 4x4x80”.
Wow 6 feet, I’ll definitely have to shorten that down. I do LST on all my plants. Do you have any bud pics of your GSC?
I am growing two right now. I train like crazy and my biggest is 3 ft tall. So it can be done. But the stretch is nuts on them
It just started flower in the first pic. The 2nd is today. It stretched for 3 weeks. Every time I thought it was done it would shoot up 3 inches.
Nice, thanks for the info. I LST on all my plants and found out AK-47 also stretch alot. I almost ran out of room. I heard GSC are big plants
Have you considered super cropping. That will help with vertical growth while also strengthening stems to support larger buds.
I kinda do both together and we’ll see if it works so far good but good thing I’m not in tent cause they are getting big around. I’ll tag you into my grow journal if you to see
@MrPeat,
Hope this comes out the right way as I am looking for help with a grow question. You posted in another feed that you run 12/12 all the way thru aswell.
If that’s the case I hope you can tell me what your yeilds are like from running photos on 12/12 start to finish as I would like to set up a 4th grow space to pheno hunt n just pop some extra seeds while still being productive.
My confusion comes in cause you also posted that you veg for months.
Do you have multiple grows? If so please let me know about the 12/12 yields.
Thank you,
@BG. I have narrowed down 10 GSC phenos to two. Both are very similar but one definitely has a more visibly narrow leaf structure and buds are more prominently spaced out. That one stretches a full foot past the other. But in general if I don’t scrog them they will stretch between 2-3feet from start of flower. When I scrog them the canopy is even across .
Since I upgraded my lights. I got 3.32 z’s off one plant dried and cured. My last plant had 8 z’s dried and cured. These 3 latest plants are so loaded that I will probably walk away with at least 1 lb dried and cured.
I grow all year round. I get 2 to 3 crops a year. I have a new grow that I am planning. Going to do 2 Autos and a monster CBD strain.
@MD_Herbology When I first started I did do 18/6. But being in South Texas The heat was out of control. So I switched to 12/12. And I’m also on a fixed income solely reliant on my Disabled Veteran compensation per month. So it helps keep the cost down per month.
The 12/12 schedule my plants just keep Veg till the Photo says it’s time to start producing flowers. It seems between 4 to 6 weeks. Then it will keep stretching till around 1 month before finishing.
I run a 4x4 tent and I do grow monsters. The more area you can get, the better the yield CAN be if you do everything right and also have good genetics in the seeds.
The big girl on the from left is 75” tall. I had to bend the back right plant several times as she almost touched the top of the tent and it’s 80” tall. I don’t mess around.
I do plan on upgrading another tent. I will have my motorcycle paid off in November and that’s $320 back into my pocket so I can run 2 tents. One for Autos and 1 for Photos and the Photos will be under my HLG lights. The Autos will go under my Viparspectra PAR600 x 2 lights.
Looks really good I like to grow big and can’t wait to try 1st outside grow. I want to let them grow as long as I can.
No I’ve watched a few videos on the matter but never tried it.
Iam thinking about cropping now but not 100% how low to go. I’ve seen some videos where they only have 4 colas. Have you cropped where you have 8 or is the plant too mature to wait that long?
There’s a couple things to consider. First if you’re in Flower then if you super crop it will stress plant and possibly slow bud development. Second if buds are to heavy then stems may not support weight after cropping. Another thing is stems start hardening up as they mature and you run the risk of snapping stem or may not be able to effectively crush stems. Ideally you would want to crop after plants mature in veg.
Have you read Bergman’s article on pruning or the one on super cropping? They really explain and show you how with illustrations and tell you pros and cons. Just Google Bergman super cropping.
