Germinating new seeds

ok, sounds good. The black one sounds like it is dead. Are they in the same water? If so I would separate them. @Leyank86 that one doesn’t sound viable to me.

@bob31 the other one just looks like it’s falling apart

fish it out with a spoon and have a closer look and if it is then you can take appropriate action as well.

It’s definitely in pieces. Very soft.
Should I call them in or call it a loss? I’m not sure if it was my fault they went bad…but it is my first time…@bob31

So I purchased the whole beginners set with all the different fertilizers, when should I start using those? It’s been in the soil for 4 days. She’s come up, but the seed shell is still hanging on to the top right now. Should I begin using starter fertilizer soon? @bob31

What soil are you using @Leyank86

Did they send you a flower power feeding chart?

I was told miracle grow. And no I did not get that chart. Thank you. @bob31

I don’t understand @Leyank86 what do you mean you were told miracle grow?

In the germination grow guide I was sent, it says use miracle grow @bob31

You actually sent that guide to me @bob31.

is it miracle grow seedling starter? @Leyank86

Miracle Gro makes a ton of different soil mixes.

No, it’s just potting soil… @bob31 It’s growing.

Is there something wrong with the miracle gro soil brand? @bob31

I need the exact name of the soil mix that you bought? @Leyank86

Most of their soil is not actually soil so it gets a different pH and it contains fertilizers already so you don’t need anything. I need to know exactly which one you have though before I can tell you correctly. Maybe take a pic of the ingredients from the bag as well.

It’s not that it is wrong it just needs to be used carefully and in an informed manner. I don’t personally use it. I prefer soils enriched with natural ingredients instead of chemical fertilizers.

So not a soil and you should pH your water to 5.8 or do a slurry test to verify.

Does it say on the bag somewhere that the time release fertilizers are good for feeding for XX amount of time? Can you see what that time is? @Leyank86

Probably not going to need any nutrients

It says it feeds up to 6 months @bob31
I originally bought an organic soil . Then I bought the miracle grow because that’s what it said. So when I do the transplant, should I change the soil?

What is the organic soil? @Leyank86 I use Fox Farms Happy Frog soil but you have to go with what you can get around you.

Organic Potting Soil with Perlite will work. Have to see if it contains any nutrients? Or other non-soil ingredients.

To answer your question. Maybe? It depends. We will keep an eye on your girl and see. I want you to watch her closely for any browning of the leaf tips etc.
