GDP to start the new year

2/14 day 40 Quick update
Time for some LST. Just a little bend and spread.

Quite a bit a difference between the plants in the closet under the HLG versus the one above in the tent under a Kind XL600. The stems are stouter with smaller internodes that the one in the tent. I did raise the HLG quite I bit. I want a little more length right now. See if it works.

I am just wanting to spread them out and not really flatten them

This one has a leaf ailment I am uncertain about. Yesterday I only thought it involved two leaves but now I see it starting on another blade. I increased Epsom salt 10%. Any thoughts are appreciated.

@beardless … dark green… waxy looking…tips claw under. I would suspect N toxcicity…spots could be associated with…not sure. That would be my guess. But i get a liitle of that every grow. Maybe that will change now that im cutting out the gro nute in my GH mix. And then again it could just be the light in your room making me see that. ALL GUESSES . But otherwise you know im watching you go all bdsm on those girls…lol

In addition to upping epsom salt for magnesium I also diluted the mix about 25%. 100% mix came in at 1300 ppm and I diluted it down to 850. I was planning on sticking to a lighter / diluted mix for a couple of times. GDP must be a little more sensitive than others. Either way, see what happens.
Thanks

@NUG61 I posted some pics yesterday GDP leaf ailment
In it I mention N overload but talked myself out of it because not seeing any fingernails. But still decided it would be good to lower nute ppm

Looking great my brother

I feel you bro I was way over feeding with the general hydroponics I was in The 1600 to 1900 PPM range mixing by the bottle but that Lucas formula for mixing brought them down to 800 and then work my way back up during flower. I can definitely tell the difference in the way they drink the water and I can already see them getting denser… I still have a couple leaves that look like magnesium deficiency but not enough I’m worrying about it.

Love the side by side comparing Nugbuckets and Nebula Haze. Looking great for sure

I had not really thought much about it before. One benefit of Nebulas is you top one fewer times. So, while I was thinking of it I went back through a recent journal to find the days for Nug’s mainline. Only one example but it makes sense that it should save about a week. For me though it won’t necessarily decrease veg time.

I don’t have things so dialed in yet that I could recognize saving or choosing myself a week or so in veg. I was toying with the idea of using the 6 seeds I’ve got going (2 each strain) and doing one topped LST and lightly defoliated, and one quadlined per strain.

I struggle so hard leaving them alone, so I’m unsure if my ability to do it. I also just love the quad/main look… so I don’t know if I want “regular” plants in my tent.

I agree. It is solid and one I would use on autos. Let it grow 4 preferably 5 nodes keep the top two nodes and remove everything below. Fast and straight forward. Top everything again and you have a really nice 8 colas plant. It is a super form for tight quarters.
Your comment about leaving them alone is why I don’t grow autos anymore.
Choices is what makes things interesting.

Overall humidity is very low. It is currently a little over 30%. Decided to take a trip to my favorite big box hardware store and picked up an evaporative humidifier.

I hope this will increase the overall RH that is drawn into the closet and tent.

I have the same issues this winter. It’s just been so devoid of precipitation this winter that it’s just dry as a bone here.
I have 2 other cheapo pharmacy humidifiers and none of the 2 of them could get it to 50% even being INSIDE the tent. I have an Aircare too but with 3 plants I just don’t have the footprint space for it and I don’t think using it in the lung room would help, even slam up on a vent.
I had seen good things about some of the Levoit’s so I got the little S200 series cool mist and it’s awesome!!
I have a little spotting so I might switch over to distilled, or maybe from the rain barrel, but I’m not too worried. They’re babies now and later in the grow I won’t really need humidification and these leaves will be long gone.
It has an app and wifi control too, so that’s kind of a nice feature. Helps when dialing it in with the exhaust fan.

Hope the Aircare does the trick for you!!

I just put distilled water in it and it is sitting next to the closet’s intake fan. I set it at 60%. It only has around 250 sq ft to cover and that include the tent and closet. So, I’ll see what the hygrometers say in those locations tomorrow morning. In another month I’ll be running the dehumidifiers.

2/17 I know you are pins and needles wondering if the humidifier is working. Yes to some degree. The RH is running 40% up from 31-33. I turned up the fan speed to 3 and increase rh setting to max at 65%. See if that adds anything.

Now for the good stuff day 43.
I can’t help myself. Geez this is a good looking plant.

It is time to pinch off the new growth tips on the node 1 branches.
I circled three of the four branches I am talking about.

These are the ones getting pinched. For now I just want the new growth at the end of each branch and main stem.

There should be eight if I did 't miss any. The main stems are OK for now.

Gone. A lot of color showing up in the stems already.

Done with the one in the tent

Two more in the closet. Same thing.
Like I said before. They are a little more compact and denser.

After the 8 growth tips are pinched off.

The last one I removed two fan leaves from center. She was otherwise really packed in.

This shut off couplings make fast and easy work of disconnecting the tray and valve from the reservoir tubing

That’s all folks

2/19 day 45
Pulling up a seat to take care of business
First up 7L of Jacks with FishSh!T and AN Ancient Earth. PH 5.8 and diluted to 830 ppm. The original 4L mix came in at 7.1 and 1210. Used 5L with 1L of runoff. Perfect 20%. Numbers doing OK ph 6.0 with 1580 ppm. This has been coming down since decreasing input ppm.

Next was to pinch off new growth tips. They were well enough formed to get to them.

The last item for today was to string the mason line. The leaves are just touching the bottom of the frame so it is time to get it in place.

I’m exhausted.
Till next time.
