GDP Stayed Green to the End

Fellow Growmies:

I just finished a run of GDP Autos from ILGM. I’m learning that I should have fed them half as much Jack’s 321. Another day another growing lesson. At any rate, my ladies never displayed the purple color commonly associated with the strain. Could that be due to my miss on the nutes? Also, my yield was embarrassingly low, as in ~3 oz from four plants.

Help me Obi Wan Growmie, you’re my only hope!

Thank you in advance.

This is more pheno related than lights, nutrients or environmental conditions Grow Bro. Rarely will plants from the same seed batch resemble each other and occasionally throw some color :love_you_gesture:

Thank you, @OGIncognito, much appreciated.

Would the over feed be the issue with the low yield?

Were these auto? :love_you_gesture:

They were.

Autos need a great start with nutrients, lighting and environmental conditions dialed in from ground breaking. The first 4-6 weeks are critical for growth with autos and an any set back recovery is time sensitive before flowering sets in. I’ve hit yields in the beginning around 2-3 zips and once I figured out the conditions above I started getting around a 6 zip average with a few 12s. The challenges are real Brother but you get it dialed in from ground breaking and they’ll take off :love_you_gesture:

GDP is a great strain. I had 2 out of 6 with nice purple color. I struggled with growing autos in soil. My forth grow was super skunk auto from ILGM and I switched from soil to hydroponic. Yield was a little over 3 lbs. from 6 plants. These were 2 of them that I chopped recently. Nice yelid for my growing skills.

Whoa! Did you journal those beasts from Chernobyl?!

I’ll tag you, it’s been going for 3 years but full of pics with photos, autos and some seed making. A lot of BS and advice from fellow Growmies as well. :love_you_gesture:

That awesome dude. I love that it takes the decisions on watering and when to give nutrients. I just change my water out every 7-10 days.

I agree with you everything is a learning experience. Purple is not 100% guaranteed it’s more of genetic thing. Nevertheless I fully agree with what @OGIncognito said* about dialing in your environment perfectly to the best of your ability having the light proper and your nutrients down packed early on this will dictate the end result for sure with autoflowers. I don’t know about Jack’s 321 but I can tell you the nutrients that I use which is advanced nutrient products I use less than a quarter of what they say. And I use about half of what anybody else uses and it’s more than enough less is more with autoflowers. Practice practice. There’s a lot of knowledge in these rooms asking questions always pays off. I’m not a pro but I’ll be happy to help you in any way as always

@Lostgirl — Thank you. Your journals and insights have been helpful beyond description. It takes a village to grow a pound, right?

Please thank you so much for the kind words that means a lot to me. On average I’ll get five to seven zips on an average plant. Well my bigger than average I get anywhere from 7 to 12 zips. I wouldn’t necessarily say that it would take a village to get a pound just need to know the right strand to grow. It seems like I’ll get two monsters out of every six that I grow. I know the Green Crack is a big yield from 420 fast buds. Girl scout cookies extreme from ilgm was a very big Yoder so was dosey doe from ilgm I got an average of 20 zips from two plants on those strands. I know the light that I use is a very good light I only listen to the recommendation of the manufacturer for a height. I don’t use any special apps or anything and my yields are huge so I do believe having it excellent light will play a big part. Utilizing the correct nutrients and fungi micro in your soil and keeping it alive and fed is incredibly important.

I feel once you cross a line of actually understanding the plant the soil the nutrients the microbial life things get a lot easier and more successful. :v:
