Fungus Gnats + Mold right before harvest?

This is a humiliating and unwelcome surprise.

This plant is in week 7 of flower, and I feel like she is right on the cusp of harvest, but within the past 4 days two problems at once have appeared around her main cola [and somewhat around the lower colas too…]

I’ve been flushing her with filtered tap water [Brita Pitcher] for one week now in anticipation of harvest. Thehumidity where I live climbed rapidly in the last 3 days, and my hygrometer has been reading 75%. I am aware that this is much too humid for a plant in flower, and I’m doing everything I can to dry out the air.

Can anyone help me figure out what I can do to help her get through the next week or two safely? From my pic I can see both fungus gnat eggs and what looks like some kind of mold, perhaps powdery mildew?

Immediately after taking this photo, I sprayed all over all of my plants with some neem oil, but I dont know if this is going to be enough.

Thank you to anyone who can provide some answer.

I would not spray neem oil on flower.
Looking at pistils in picture you have a few weeks to go.
This is indoor in tent?
If you don’t have a dehumidifier, I would keep tent door open during daylight hours.
Do you have fan?
Can you show picture of whole plant
Can I see little bugs on leaves :face_with_monocle:
They might be aphids.

Heres a pic of the whole plant, main cola from the side, and a problem area through a loupe.

dont hhave a dehumidifier, but my air conditioner is running at all hours to get the air dry.

All I have for a fan is a large box fan which can be moved inside the tent if you think that might help.

Right now im looking for anything i can do to fix this issue fast. This is my first grow and I’m starting to worry that it’s going to end in disaster.

You want to have air circulating in tent but not blowing directly on plants.
I don’t know if you are able to purchase Jacks dead bug, highly recommended by everyone on here. I don’'t have access to Jacks where I live.
I reckon you have a while to go ,two weeks maybe.
I would give it a feed looks hungry to me.

I’ll feed with my next watering. [Just watered this morning]. I’ll wait as long as it takes to harvest, but I’m still worried about the plant(s) getting infested and ruined before then.

I found a couple of hardware stores near me that carry jacks dead bug… I’ll buy a bottle tomorrow.

What do you make of the white spots in addition to the bugs? Does this look like mold to you?

Thank you for your responses.

After a little bit of research online-- does anyone think the problem might be thrips?

My photos look similar to others i found around the internet that claim to show a thrip infestation.

That plant has several weeks before harvest, I suggest re-starting your nutrient feeding :love_you_gesture:

Make sure you do a bud wash at harvest.

I will continue with nutrients in my next watering. I guess I was thinking that enough pistils were orange that she was telegraphing a finish within the next week.

As for bud washing when I harvest, ive seen some guides that simply say to swish forst in a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water, then plain water, then gently shake off and hang to dry.

Does that sound like the right way to do this?

Finally, does anyone think i should be doing anything extra for my plants than just captain jacks? The amount of gunk on the leaves is alarming to me. Would wiping them off with some peroxide and a soft cloth do anything useful?

Thank you all.

Powdery mildew spray the leaves with the solution. Early morning or at night. Bud washing, you are correct.
I’ve actually never washed my buds. But I will be this year.
Don’t rub the leaves if powdery mildew exists. It will spread it.

Thank you for the tip.

If im going to be spraying both peroxide and captain jacks, can they be used together? How often should i do each spraying?

Captain Jack acquired and used. I hope this works.

Side note, heres a pic of the plant living next to the one in question, not quite as far along with flowering. Only a hint of orange in her pistils.

But, I worry that she’s already lost too many fan leaves. Is this something I should be concerned about?

You just have to try and maintain the health of the plant till harvest.
I recently misdiagnosed a potassium deficiency for nutrient burn and flushed plant … My mistake, won’t happen again. Potassium deficiency continued and after realizing I started feeding again with half strength nutrients and back up to full strength now…
There was damage done to leaves but not critical.

I want to thank you all for your insight. My bug problem has improved dramatically with the use of Captain Jacks. I feel like im very close to harvest now with the plant from the start of this thread.

Ive had a few bumps in the road with this being my first grow, but I will be very happy with what I get from it. Here’s to the next one going smoother and to always learning and improving!
