You can have it!!
I’ve been outside all day in nothing but shorts! Temp right now is 82F. Was actually considering heading to the river.
I don’t know how you Yetis do it!
Be safe, Brother…

Minus 22 here today. Winter has finally hit here. Even got like 8 inches of snow over this weekend. Went from nice and no snow to cold as fu@& and snow coversed in one night.
This is supposed to be one of nicest days this week half the reason for town trip can’t leave my truck parked with 1/4 tank lines may freeze auto start kicks in at minus 30 as well better not parked with low fuel. Had shopping list for making my hydro units like anything else always one thing we forget lol 3/8" line for my drain pump but that’s easy to get later too
If you don’t mind @Donaldj I would love to see your dwc system once you get it all put together…
will do you one better and take pictures as I put it together misses gets home soon she bound to drive me into the basement or outside with the dogs
I know that feeling…any of my trips to do a plant check can turn into an hour plus depending on how medicated I am.
I need a sink, running water and a drain…growing is keeping my heart healthy I am walking up and down stairs on their maintenance days, many times with 5 gallon buckets of water…
Well lets start with the inventory
1, 15 gallon Tote this can be rubber made what have you but light resistant is important
4x12" airstones could use 2 3 6 this all depends on size of tote and pump more air is good
1 Air pump I am using a 1096 gph pump lots of air
Hose to match airstone and fittings
10 3" netpots
white spray paint
silicone
Tools 3" hole saw, knife, drill and very important measuring tape
hope this was somewhat helpful will take rest of night for me to layer on the paint and silicone to set will post finished pics later
Surprised I got that done today had mother in law over complicated things next will be flushing unit out after running it for a day no plants
I tell u @Donaldj great minds think alike… Love your set up… Here’s a pic of my veg totes … With built in chiller because where I live it gets to 130 deg in the summer…
its a top feed with rdwc…These are the flower totes with rdwc and built in chiller and a 5 gallon extra res in case I need to leave for a couple days… All totes are 27 gallon plus chillers and things…
I thought about going recirculating but space constrains and portable came first since I am flowering them as single kolas I also have to repair foundation during summer so may have to shuffle things then. My other thought was going straight NFT but going with what I know works for now and certainly no need for chiller for me at this time of year in summer may revamp
I can’t wait to see your results I have a strain that grows perfect for small spaces I will show you as soon as I get them up and going… Foot ball bud lol…
I don’t understand NFT. What does that mean?
I’m glad you were specific about the air lines. I never thought about that before, but it makes sense.
One day I may decide to go hydro, but it seems so high maintenance. I love the pretty girls, but when it takes so much effort to make them happy…? Wait…we were talking about plants!
I will have to get much better with pH manipulation before I dive into the water. Yep! Pun intended…
Nutrient Film Technique NFT a constant or timed flow of nutrients over a shallow angled res the roots are not submerged they rest on the thin film of running nutrients so get tons of air top feed hydro units are fairly similar as the nutrients run down roots to res but NFT units can be smaller and nutrient don’t use root space as res. Roots can be grown lateral get lots of air and unit can be far smaller shallower taking less height
I picked 2 indica dominant strains with tight node spacing and may as yet top each clone will greatly depend on growth rates once they are in units if I double Kola each then may yet even add a Scrog net to it but until I see plants in stretch which will be soon since Have one too many mothers only growing them based on strain dominance and theory they will work how I want. This means shit will get adjusted as I find out they grow faster or stretch more than I first expected but all par for the course since every new strain has it’s learning curve and will be running 3 light rotation with these strains for months until I add some new mothers goal is monthly harvest
Wow! That sounds like it would be perfect for my short cabinet!
I connected airlines to stones late lastnight so I could seal around holes drilled since I will be using this unit as bubble cloner too by raising water level right into net pots and placing cuttings straight into it may be a bad idea but may work too lmao my last bubble cloner worked only difference would be lecca and size of res. If it doesn’t work only a couple weeks behind and could hedge my odds in Peat at same time
At about the max for my headache pills and just mildly functional flushing unit will need to wait until tomorrow purchased an new exhaust fan 435 cfm it too will have to wait but will be hopefully enough to maintain neg pressure between the three area’s or may have to get resourceful and use in series to boost exhaust rate
busy morning I went to down picked up hose for my submersible fish tank thermostat and heater wired in 3rd outlet for my space this afternoon should be comprised of running plumbing to fill my res and installing new fan she’s damn cold so gathering the nerve to go outside and hunt for clamps
Plumbing done just taking smoke break before crawling into hole again to connect new fan ambient is 53f so a wee bit chilly ladies are sitting pretty at 71f
Well fan in bubbler running water and h2o2 just to sanitize before I start clones only drain to consider now in debate on using bubbler to clone or rockwool? also picked the runt which goes into flower room at next watering
