Im wondering would it be ok use both ff trio an gg nuets together love how the gg keeps the plants nice an vibrant but i think the ff trio will help me pull the yield im actually going for l

It’s a debated topic. Its ok as long as you know what is in each one so you don’t over or under feed.

I would recommend one or the other. The FF trio contains all the micro and macro nutrients needed as well as most cannabis friendly fertilizers do. I’m not sure why you would want to mix the 2 :love_you_gesture:

The fox farm trio… are you refering to the three bottles the big bloom, grow big and tiger bloom?

If so, i am a newbie and i have no idea how to use these… i just purchased them so i could have them ready to use when i flip to flower.

Make sure you have a Ph pen (good one) and a TDS meter.

If i have no runoff with selfwatering bases, should i ph test the water in the reservoirs that gets wicked up into the soil?

I have no experience with those, over my head. I have always watered to runoff thats how i learned and haven’t learned another way…

I added the big bloom and grow big to 2 gallons of water and split the gallons between these two tonight. I will let you guys know how things go!

Personally I always started on the weaker side with the trio. First week I’d start with 1/4 strength, next week I’d get to 1/2, with autos I don’t think I ever went full strength. Not to say you can’t, I just didn’t think I needed to.

You’re going to want that ph pen and tds meter like @Audiofreak suggested. Get yourself a tds meter that will go in the 700 scale as that is what fox farms tells you to use if your follow the schedule in the book that it comes with. Find your grow medium and follow said schedule. The trio is really made for veg and flower, depending on your soil and what you’re growing you could be feeding before flower.

Mix up your nutes, then ph your water.

As far as your question with the bases…I don’t know. I currently use the self watering bases now and can’t quite wrap my head around how I would with the trio.
For context, I’m growing with grow dots and the bases now. It’s water only and maybe some calmag from time to time in the bases. With trio, I was on a feed, water, feed, water schedule with the water days also getting 2ml of calmag.
I guess you could do the same feed/water alternating schedule filling the bases…but you’re going to want some run off to flush those salts through I’d assume. I always tried to get 4 cups of run off, but how do you get that with the bases?

Obviously it can be done, I’m just stuck in my own head about the run off and alternating schedule.

If you’ve never mixed up a batch of nutrients before, YouTube it. You’re bound to find a video or two about it and it’ll at least give you an idea what you’re getting into and how it should go.

Im new myself this is only my 2nd run. I have 4 autos going an my photo just sprouted yesterday. My 1st run i used the trio plus the bush doctor cal mag.the nuets are actually great my smoke came out fire. Ive switched to gaia green but my plants are small. Maybe its not the nuets my 1st grow i fimd an did alot of defoliating this time i didn’t even top which could be the result of small plants but like i said b4 im far from an experienced grower but i am sticking with ff from here on out

My only worry at the moment is if i should approach this like someone doingnhydro would since the roots are in the water reserve?

Is it a more delutied version of the concentrate for that?

Without a TDS pen I would mix the FF trio at 1/2 strength. The PH will be medium specific and for soil the range would be 6.3-6.8 with 6.5 being optimum :love_you_gesture:

I just ordered these!:metal: i hope they will work

Watch your PH closely! Also, make sure you shake your bottles well before you draw from them as the nutes separate and settle within the bottles. I used the trio for my very first grow with decent results. Ended up switching to Jacks for simplicity and cost. Been very pleased. Good luck to you!!!
