High ya’ll , its 9/22/17 in Ky. and things are going as planned. Question, they give flowering times for an Indica and they will give flowering time for a Sativa but what would it be for a hybrid. Could it take on the Indica time the sativa time or just be in between just wondering
Each are different as the individual strains are @bodean
What strain are you interested in?
@bob31 is right. Hybrids will show from one end to the other. It’s even likely within a batch of seeds to get a couple different phenos of the same strain, that could all flower differently.
Ive got train wreck, jack herer, and northern lights, wreck and jack started pre flower 1st of aug. they are 3days from it being 8 weeks. Jack has all 3 colors of trix.and the cyliyx are starting to swell it aint going to be long now, water , mollasses and a little a.n. bud candy for final push. Miss Wreck is going nuts, is really starting to get that last weeks bud swell, the buds look like huge cotton balls with many thick pistols, amazing. These 2 are sativa dom. the northern lights is aleast a week or more behind the others and its more indica, i thought it would have been ready before jack and the wreck, i keep an i on the trichomes i was just wonderin Thanx for reply
Even clones may finish at different times, some topping technique can change finish time.
I forgot to add that ive been using the mollasses and fresh bubbled worm casting tea from the start, i just added the bud candy
at pre flower i wish i new how to send pix there nice
I lst’ed the crap out of the jack and wreck, but the n. lights i trained to have 16 mains its really starting to come on but im thinking about a week or so into oct.
MY indoor NL was supposed to be ready in 60 days. It’s day 72 and I’m still waiting for amber trichomes. So take those “flowering time” numbers with a drain of salt.
You start counting after the stretch when the plant starts to bud. Not the day you switch the flip.
My GSCX takes 70 days but after the stretch witch takes 2-2 1/2 weeks it’s more like 85-90 days. That’s a 3 month flower time not counting veg , seedling stages and dry and cure time. Ruffly 6 months from seed to smoke.
I seen the molasses added to tea and while at the store seen agave nectar, so grabbed a bottle to try on my grow when I get to it.
Go to the site where you bought the seeds and it will tell you the estimated time in flower for all of them. Leafly also has them. If you got them from ILGM they are posted right on the seed side, just need to look them up @bodean
Ya, i appreciate it. Ive seen there estimated times, i was just wonderin about the hybrid. I figured about 8/9 weeks. It dont think it really matters when you use the trichome method Thanks
no it doesn’t really.
I watch the pistils. When most are getting brown then I look at the trichomes! The numbers the seed banks through up are estimates/ averages and just to give folks an idea. I’ve grown several different hybrids and they all vary @bodean
Thats exactly what ive been seeing on the forums, ive seen that if you dont have a magnifier and go by pistils 50/70 is what you shoot for if your looking for cloudy and some amber. I want cloudy and may be 20% amber
its not legal here yet but i can see them every day, when they start getting close to what i think i like how many days does it take for them to change from cloudy and some amber to lots of amber i dont want to go overboard on amber
Some of them go fast and some take forever so you definitely want to watch them closely. Once a day should be sufficient. I had an AK47 that refused to beyond just a few dots of amber. I gave her two more weeks and chopped her down and she was plenty potent, but very milky trichomes and almost no amber. There are as individual as we are @bodean
I have never been able to dial in any exact time. You harvest when the trichomes are ready.
We know Indica finishes approx. 1 month earlier than Sativa, and Sativa might actually take 2 months to finish. A hybrid could take on the traits of wither pheno, so you just have to watch for the decline of new pistils. This is an indication to check the trichomes which will lead you to a perfect harvest.
Thanks alot fellas, heres something else. I left a few popcorn buds so i could pull a few to sample and have some smoke theres a ZZ TOP concert in Paducah on my birthday the 27th sept. ( Question ) Do thoughs popcorn buds ripen about the same time or do most of them need to be left there after the main buds are taken to catch all the sun it can get
Thats what i thought to but i have jack herer train wreck and an indica dom. Northern lights thats at least a week and half behind the sativa dom.
Are you adding the molasses to your nutes or just to the water when flushing?
Yes, on feed days mix the molasses right in with your nutes. I have feed molasses the whole grow its amazing stuff.I’m outside in Ky. and i have stopped the nutes and um just giving them molasses and A.N. bud candy till chop-chop, there going crazy
