Fiz's Second Grow - LSD Auto triplets

My weed plans change by the hour. I’m laughing at myself planning for the year ahead.

The only thing I worry about it I constantly see people complaining about fungus gnats. I know it is winter, but I didn’t have a single bug anywhere in sight.

I also think you have to buffer the stuff? Something something salt, calcium, aggh!

I do like the idea of “you pretty much can’t overwater”.

I snipped a little Lucy larf and the smell is driving me crazy. The large buds are showing 25% moisture, this is drier - I’ll let it sit around couple of hours here and then she’ll combust. It’s SO dry in my house my hair is standing out from my pony tail. Driving me nuts!

I had some this winter, the first time and with the P4P soil. The yellow sticky traps worked well. A couple days after putting a couple in my pot, three gnat carcasses appeared on one of them, bless their little souls. Haven’t seen anymore since.

The coco, right? @Graysin

God, I love the smell of weed, and I can only imagine Lucy’s strong scent is like. :yum:

Sorry about that, but lol, too. Remember to smooth it out when your mom comes around.

Thank goodness my mom gave up driving couple of years ago now! I mean, I had to get a little bit tough with her when she drove through the back of her garage… :woman_facepalming:t2:

But the static hair is flying around, getting in my eyes, mouth, yuk! I’m going to have to put some oil on it or something!

Yeah, I bet it was tough dealing with her on that. Thankfully, my MIL volunteered not to drive when she didn’t feel comfortable with it, so we never had to press on THAT issue, lol.

Argan oil works well, and is very good for the scalp, too.

I think I have some upstairs.

Lucy larf report: “Oh, wow, man, Fiz isn’t home!”

Damn! I literally felt the high spread down my body from my face to my toes. I’m tingling!

Looks like I picked a good strain for me - I’m even having trouble spelling/typing!

Put a pot of water on the stove and turn to a low simmer, add your extracts and enjoy!

Honestly I felt the same way. I had no real motive to try coco instead of soil. Daily watering sounded like a royal pain. The convenience of watering my soil once a week and forgetting about it has so much appeal. But after watching enough growers get massive plants in coco Vs soil, a lot like hydro, I figured it was worth a shot. After some chatting with @ReelOfishalTrees , I bit the bullet and got some coco bricks, and some autopots. I won’t ever go back to straight soil.

Nope, canna coco is pre-washed and buffered.

I got fungus gnats in my soil plants because I brought home a couple stray plants. They were never ending for a while there.

I haven’t managed to overwater it yet. I just water once a day (or once every other) when I’m top-feeding. It’s been fine.

Ok! You’ve set my mind at ease, or as much at ease as I can be when I’m thinking about making an unfamiliar change. I may start one of my other strain seeds in Lucy’s tent. Looks as if she’s done with it - she was around 11% moisture this morning.

Time to get her in the bags. I may not trim her all that closely b/c I’m not really trying to impress anyone with her looks (at this point!) and her sugar leaves are stiff with trichomes.

Guess I’ll start and see how I intend to go on. She got me plenty high yesterday that’s for sure.

I don’t know how I missed this post of yours yesterday!

Well, I’m so glad to hear how well she treated you and how it’s a great strain for you! Sounds even better than the other sample(s). :+1: Congrats on your first grow!

Thanks! Yeah, I got really buzzed. The little larfy bud I picked kept me going most of the day.

And now, Lucy is dry - time to trim her (not like a pro, she’s going to be a bit - er- leafier?) and put her in the Grove Bags. I’ll have to put the main cola buds into a separate bag, everyone says they are the best part so I’m going to find out!

:grinning:

Of course I know that you’ll keep an eye on the RH in the bags, and watch also in case she’s still on the moister side.

I like your “leave the sugar leaves on” approach, lol. Think I’ll do that for most of my plant; my current girl has lots of trichome-rich sugar leaves … it’ll be fine for me if/when they drop off in the bottle. I cut off the trichomey sugar leaves from my first (smaller) plant, a lot of work, :face_exhaling: , and then I haven’t used them. My prior two plants had very few worth-saving sugar leaves, trimming was easier, lol.

As you know I did trim off 96% of the non-trichome covered leaves already. I’ll get anything else and leave the glitter on.

I have tons of the little hygrometers floating around so yes, I will watch carefully. Probably split her into two bags, but I guess I’ll see.

Probably better get busy - the NFL playoffs are today and I want to be ready to watch!

Not to mention, I should probably try to hack away at the glacier that is my sidewalk. We ended up with 9 inches of snow, and it went down to 8F overnight, damn.

Sorry about your icy sidewalk!
I forgot about the The Game today.

My understanding for removing the sugar leaves is that leaves can cause some smokers to have headaches. I think it has to do with more chlorophyll than THC. But I’m not certain.

I bet about the headaches or just not the best smoke, and I haven’t used my other sugar leaves for edibles yet, if I ever will at this point, LOL.

And I’d pick them off the bud before using.

Only speaking for myself, it seems that I’m going for the lazy woman’s (anti-)trim way, or more likely the pay later way.

That sounds about right  I don’t smoke much so I trim excessively neatly- I don’t want those who partake regularly to have a bad experience!

LOL! And the more I think about it, my sugar leaf bottle didn’t smell as good (it’s not bud, lol) as my bud bottles, so my preference is to separate the sugar leaves … I’m thinking that perhaps sugar leaf aromas could migrate onto the buds and could interfere with taste part of my dry herb vaping experiences.

Well, I don’t know what I’m complaining about and trying to take the easy way out, since even though it’s a bit tedious at times, I actually like to trim …and it’s just one autoflower. SMH.
