Still waiting for the seeds to sprout, so in the meantime…
My daughter brought a plumeria branch back from Disney World as a gift for me. Unfortunately, it did not survive as the day I got it was the coldest day of the year and the branch must have gotten too cold.
Well, I really wanted to grow one though it will have to be an indoor plant at least half the year here. So I ordered another branch, stuck it in some well wrung out coco, and put it in a south facing window with a 20W grow lamp over it.
Today, it appears to be starting to put out leaf buds. I’m excited!
Once I get her potted up, I may pop her into the small tent with the 150W lamp to get her really going, then outside for the warmest months of the year.
I just looked up some pics of that plant/flower. Pretty! Do you know what color(s) it will be?
I trust what you say about the branch - what it is and that it’s starting to put out leaf buds. To me, it … it looks … scary, like diseased hot dog scary or something …
So today, SURPRISE! The both of them had substantial tails on them. I struggled getting one off the cotton so I just snipped around and popped the cotton into the little nursery bag. Put them in the tent with 15 DLI light, and hopefully they make it.
I really enjoyed the Negasonic Teenage Warhead character in Deadpool - she’s so unaffected by Deadpool’s sarcasm towards her, lol, but instead she just does her badazz stuff. I hope she’s in Deadpool 3.
Despite my cotton worries, both Jenny and Ellie have their tiny heads poking up in the right direction with their cotyledons open, proudly showing their baby leaves.
For right now, I just left the tent door wide open. I do need to get my fans programmed, and I was hustling so fast to get them under light yesterday I set my timer to a straight 18/6 instead of 6/2 x 3.
Today feels like a three cuppa coffee day for heavens knows what reason.

Jenny BB is the top one, the smaller of the two. She’s at the front of the tent.
Ellie CM is the larger, and had a substantial tap root popping out of the nursery bag. She was the one who stuck to the cotton, so guess she’s not mad.
Set up the controller finally despite it not being very intuitive.
AC is coming out with matching humidifiers next month. They can live outside the tent. The 4.5 L is $49, not horrible. They are also coming out with a 15 liter - quite the whopper at $149. I think I am going to reorder the 4.5 L model. Will make life oh so much easier.
The babies are looking marvelous, Ellie is visibly larger this morning. I’m going to have to look around for more info on the strain.
Pre-ordered the AC humidifier. I got the 4.5L size. They are going to have a 9L too, which I would have bought but they didn’t have a release date for that one. The other one, 15L, is just a bit too much money and I don’t think I need that much.
Just saw a tip elsewhere, and I’m writing it here so I have it when I need it.
I’ve used cannabis leaves, spinach leaves, and apple peels to rehydrate overdried weed. So I saw a tip to use cotton balls wrung out in distilled water, wrapped in aluminum foil with pin holes punched in it.
Sounds like a good method to me. Don’t want to forget.
