First..Well, Second Attempt at Proving to Wife We Can Support Ourselves

Hydroponics can also be done with a non soil medium such as coco coir by flooding the medium with a nutrient solution, letting it get dry, then flood again and again as the medium dries up ensuring about 25% run off each time.
I did DWC and coco coir and much preferred the ease of the Coir grow over the DWC grow.
Just something to think about.

That is pretty sweet, at this point I am not going to trust my DIY skills right now though, unless I have plans I suck at pulling a product out of my ass. I am very good at following instructions and creating things that I can see pictures of…like a blow up of the item.

For now I am going to go ahead and get that Bubble Boy 5gal pot, its inexpensive and the wife seems to be more supportive than I thought…I think she sees the advice I have been getting from here and is getting more confident in my ability to learn, lol.

If both the seeds make it to veg stage I’ll go ahead and do one in the sun and one in the hydro tent. Otherwise I’ll just do the tent. I am getting stoked and will post pictures as things start rolling. Thanks for the input, I am hoping to get at least an ounce from the one already vegging.

Household 6 wants to make sure I don’t have too many plants in the window, dont want the pool guy to see them…even though the dude would probably give me some good tips.

One more question…it is my understanding that the Lowryder Autoflowers are relatively small. Does this go for all autos, are they generally small due to their limited lifespan?

Good point TB… I use rockwool to germinate and then move it to a cup with clay pebbles and she’s off

I have had some autos that where short and bushy and others that where taller even in the same strain.

Nothing new, waiting on my FF nutes. The 3 week old is cruising along and the other two just cleared the soil today. I’ll post some pics once they start looking noticeably different. Thanks everyone.

Got the FF nutes today. Going to start feeding ASAP. Little seedlings are doing well and I have moved the oldest to the tent full time. She is thirsty and seems to be doing well. Looks like I may get a slightly bigger tent and be able to fit all three. Excited to see how this all turns out. You guys are a fountain of information.

The poor 3 week old is my test dummy for LST, but it looks like I’ve got something going right.

I’ve got a question, I’m looking at the Fox Farms feeding chart. It labels amounts per gallon, can I pre mix a gallon and use portions of it on feeding days or am I supposed to dump a gallon each time, or do I use math and mix just the amount I need at each feeding. Right now I am giving the seedlings about an ounce a water every other day and the 3 week old gets about half a liter every other day with a feeding once a week, but will change to the FF schedule. Should I water more? seriously nervous about over watering.

I feel like a retard, but I want to get it as right as possible.

Only mix what you need. It’s not good to let it sit. Get used to how heavy the pot is when its watered and how light it is when its dry. It’s better to let it dry out some in between watering. You can also stick a finger down to the first knuckle to see if its damp or dry
And water when dry an inch down. It’s a huge learning curve dont beat yourself up. I’m not a pro either lol

Nutrients change the longer they have been mixed so you want to mix fresh. Go Alexa

The 3 week old is coming along nicely, 3 weeks 4 days. I think I burned one of her fan leaves somehow so I pruned that one and another. I don’t think I’ll get a huge yield at all off of her, but my first female is still alive and I have two more small seedlings to try again with. I am definitely waiting a little longer to train the next two.

My wife messed with me on my 1st two grows. The 3rd grow all she does is come to my door with an empty jar and said ā€œplease sir can I have some moreā€

My wife has become much more accepting lately. As long as I don’t have 10 seedlings sitting on the windowsill, lol. The second and third babies will get all the help from the mistakes made on the first.

That is what I am hoping for with mine. She said she is keeping our smoke budget until I show her otherwise. I am already thinking about my next seed purchase and I have no idea what I am doing at all. I have such a small setup and need to find a way to get more space without looking like I am taking more space.

Ot took me 3 grows to get it right. Got a good education on the 1st two grows, it came to a head in the 3rd grow with great yeald(12 oz.) And f-ed me up. Still does. Growing my 4th now.

I will be happy with just an ounce from this first girl. If I can get a 12oz yield by my third grow I will earn plenty of props from the wife. Like she’d probably give me a…present…keep it PG.

She’s 4 weeks and the only issue I have had is one small bug, which I identified but forgot at this time. It left little white marks on two leaves and really irritates my OCD, but she’s clean now. I do not understand how that little fucker got in there. On a good note she and the other two seem to be cruising along. I’m following the guidelines for the FF nutes and I actually notice Quicker healthier new growth.

Training seems to working also. The lower branches are starting to reach up and level out with the top. As she grows around the lip of the pot she will stay level and expose more sites to the light…right, does she look right?
