Hello everyone this will be my first attempt with a DWC system.
I will try to update you on every step of the journey…
48 hours ago i placed 6 seeds in between wet paper towels, all 6 of them germinated so today i placed them in some Rockwool cubes which i soaked in ph 6.0 water.
The strains i chose are Original Oreoz and Persian Pie.

Update :
5 out of 6 plants have sprouted from the rockwool cubes, here are some pics of the young plants and my Setup.
Lights : mars hydro 450w & 300w full spectrum
Vents : prima klima 420-800 m3/h & 3x 15w clip fans
Containers : 30l buckets, air pump with 4 outlets 600l/h, 15cm netpots
Very nice and clean setup.
Those plants need way more light than what they are currently under. Long stems indicate ‘reaching’ for light.

And yes @Myfriendis410 i agree i just like to keep the light dimmed down to 25% while i still have the humidity dome over the plants so i dont get the burn spots on my leaves. Today i removed the dome and turned the light up to 50%.
The seedlings are abou 4-5 cm high rn.
I also gave them their first feeding ( p.h 5.85 & tds 330 ppm ) only a few ml on the rockwool cubes an some on the bottom.
At the end of the week i will chose which 4 plants i keep an plant them in the dwc buckets.

Still counting this a seedling/ young plant stage. Tomorrow i will change out the water and then count that as day 0 Veg

morning Clandestino…I keep mine with seedling environment for 21 days…then I start my veg environment for 21 days then its flower time…keeps my photo grows around 120 days seed harvest…

Hello everyone, i was planning on changing the water nitrient solution out every week now that it had been a week since i put it in i realized that the water is still in good condition… the ppm is still pretty much the same as in the begining and the water also does not smell or looks any different. Now i was wondering if i can maybe go up to 10 days in between changes ? What do you think ?

I have a 55 gallon drum with the hydroponic system I use. My friend owns the store where I purchased it. He said I need to change the water every 7-10 days. In that 7 day period 8 plants drink about 35 gallons. He also said 10 days is pushing it. I’ve known of people who top off instead of changing. I like the ease of drainage and adding the same amount off nutrients each time. I however did go 10 days a couple times during my grow and didn’t notice any problems by doing so.
for the first 21 days I do not change my water or add any more nutes to it…around 350ppm is my level …I call this seedling phase…then the next phase veg, 700ppm, for the first 2 weeks I don’t change the water or add any more nutes…then I start changing the water/nutes every 7 days until harvest…this has worked well for me

Thank you @Retiredoldguy i gave them 400ppm an for the first few days nothing changed but now after 6-7 days it dropped to about 250-300 ppm, the ph changed about 48h after i put the water in. The input was 5.8 but it went up to 7.2 and has since then stayed at 7.2.
I will think i will change out the water after 10 days except i notice that it smells or looks weird…
In my opinion the plants look pretty healthy and also grow quick ( a lot faster then in soil )

I have found in my DWC setup I do not chase the PH…I adjust the first time I put the system together after a couple days…then after that I do not adjust PH between change outs…I usually mix to get 6PH when I prepare my nutrients…my ph will rise to 7 just like you during veg and that is because when the plant takes in lots of nitrogen mostly it will make the water go towards 7PH and then later on when she is not taking in much nitrogen but more Phosphorus and Potash the ph will head towards 4 PH…it is something that the plant does and is not a function of your nutrients and stability…
