I think that’s why he got fired. People liked him, nobody learning though. It was like his last ditch effort to stay in some kind of spot light.

It’s a shame because if he was more into it he could have kept giving the gift of music to younger people and getting paid and still remaining getting paid in the industry he loved
I live a mile from one of the best guitar techs there ever was He is actually a master luthier
He built 13 or 14 Kramer’s when he worked at Kramer in Neptune Nj in the early 80’s
At this point those two things should be stuck out in any guitar players mind

Anyway he works out of his two car garage and doesn’t have 5 minutes 7 days a week
His tiny little shop is littered with guitars in cases everywhere waiting for service or to be picked up .
The passion he has after all the years he’s been doing it enabled him to do what he loves and never walk 20 feet from his bedroom unless he chooses to ,and pay his mortgage without worry …
Everytime I think of giving up on something I think of things like that
Even tho I maintain all my guitars myself
Every time I get a new one it goes to him just because it’s possible .
You get it back better than it ever was .

Doing a proper set up is one thing I just never learned how to do even though I could have many times
I was the same way for many years
Because of who I live near .
One day he told me to get with it
And have way too many guitars to be bringing to him all the time …wasting money he said
Imagine that …someone turning down business hahah
Showed me some stuff and he was not only right
But once you learn how to do it …
You also learn to set it up How you like it

There’s this saying …the average person practices something till they get it right .Someone looking for more will practice until they can’t get it wrong .
I try to be able to have my mind on other things and get through an entire song while reading something or paying attention to the news …

I used to do that ( not reading) but since I started singing while playing it engulfs me
I was going to say I have to concentrate, but realized that’s not correct
I become consumed by it and have no attention to give to anything else
I’m stoked about that main cola! It’s been so fun to follow along this journey. These girls have all been through the ringer

Not my strong suit
But yes exactly that
That’s doing something other than playing
You can use the singing as the distraction from playing …
It’s not easy to do …but getting the playing to the point where it’s like second nature like a clock is your goal
Have you ever made use of a metronome ?
That also can aid in your “counting in your head “ while playing …which I just act like I’m walking …I find it easier
To pick up the pace I pick up my steps
Most of the time my feet don’t even move
I was taught to play the drums that way
Use your feet to count so it just made sense to me

I think I sway, I don’t really play standing up unless I’m really going to town( no strap at the moment)
I play in time but I might be kinda sloppy
