Promix is inert, some of the wal mart mixes have starter nutes but BX and HP do not. I use Mega Crop 1 part or jacks 321 for nutes, diluted and given by EC or PPM.
I put my seeds in a wet moist paper towel then put them in a ziplock some place dark once they sprout I put them in a 5 gal cloth planter and let the magic begin there’s no need to start them in a solo cup and work your way up to a 20 gal planter I’ve done it my way for years and never had a problem the less you mess with them the better and healthier they will stay
Are using the jakes3-2-1 to pre charge the 300-400ppm
Can you explain this process step by step?
Can some one share a link to the jakes3-2-1?

I simply mix my Promix and perlite in a tub, then fill solos and feed the nute mix until it’s soaked and running out bottom, I let that drain until it stops dripping and plant the seeds from the towels into the cups, I poke a hole with a nail just wide enough to let seed go in, bury with head under the media about 1/4 inch, put under a dome with 79-80 percent humidity and 78-80 degrees, they are usually up the next day. Hope this helps, it’s also in my journal in a couple places.
OK, I order the Jakes for this new grow, so gonna have to wait a few day, jakes seems to be the most straight forward method. Excited to give it a try. but this will give me more time to plan out what I want to do.so I will have to wait to get started. Reading around there seems to be conflicting opinions around “Charging” the HP mix or not. gonna keep digging on that one before I make my decision. May look into some of those product nutes you use from your grow journal @Growdoc I am only post 2000..LOL
Appears to be happy and not stretching further.
Got the SLH clone potted up to a 1gal. Had some good looking roots. Did not water her since the charged soil was plenty moist. Ordered some 7gal pots for the SLH mother plant. SC still sick…..will have a few more days before she is dried back, enough to water again. And the G13 is looking much better. Once the rest of my items arrive I will begin my blue dream endeavor.
I charged the soil with what I had on the shelf. I mixed 13cups ish Promix /2cups + a pinch of perlite / 1cup ish DE. Used 1/2gal of the nutrients solution through the soil and let sit 21 hours. the Runoff = PH-6.2 PPM 1560. Question: Is that to high of a starter PPM for a healthy clone?
1.25ml- Silica 1.25ml-cal-mag {All 3} 1.25ml-GH-Flora Trio
I start my cannabis seeds in a 6 inch pot with fox farms ocean forest then transfer to their final container.(also ocean forest)
I dropped my last clones from water propagation straight into ocean forest amended with gardentone. I start all of my vegetables in a ocean forest/peatmoss mix amended with garden tone so I figured why not. I have not decided if gardentone is the way to go for cannabis yet, but I like it so far.
It appears the SLH-Clone likes it’s new home. The mother needed watered today. Ruff off was PH-6.5 PPM-1330, I am hoping those numbers are good? SC- weighs in at 3lbs 10oz so she still has a few days to go.
Question? Does is matter if you LST before you water?
I don’t think it matters much, it hasn’t for me anyway. I don’t like to on some strains, they tend to get limp and droopy when they’re thirsty and I prefer them to put up a little resistance when I’m bending them around.
Your ladies are looking fine, growmie! ![]()

Is it possible to get leaf chlorosis from a light not being strong enough? In my 2x2x6 I have a ACI-Ionboard s22 115watts. Currently I have it set to a level 7 of which my watt meter tell me this is 80watts. The light is hanging from the brackets on the top of the 6’ tent. Just curious if that is a thing? normally I hear to much, light, to much water, to much nutrients.
Meanwhile in the lonely 4x4, my 2 Jamaican seed and skunk#1 are coming along nicely. Probably because the wife took over after I completely stunted them.
Few more weeks and will be ready to cut.
No. Not enough intensity to cause bleaching. You would get slower growth and stretching.
The strawberry cough is dried back to 3lbs and will be ready to water, my conclusion is this, I believe this plant needs to be flushed and transplanted into fresh soil and potted put to a 3 or 5 gal pot , The only thing I can figure is the soil is depleted, and a lockout, or a ph issue going on in the soil. I really have no clue? I think what I did wrong was I never gave it water inbetween feedings, I should have been more of a FwwFwwf and I was a FFFFFF so in my head I am thinking this………. in amended soil you will not have to give it nutes for a few weeks, but when you do start feeding it, you need to give it just ph water in between feedings to help flush out some of the salts in the soil. But again I really do not know. @Budbrother what say ye brother? Any advice on what I need to do next to get this poor
girl back to health?
I don’t know salts other than basics. you could just flush that pot and reset it with nutes to straighten it out again. IMO
Yes, transplanting it works and would see it turn around quickly with 1/4 dose feedings. As far as the water feed water routine that’s something for a salt grower to answer. Some nutrient products or mediums are different.
Watering to runoff is what pushes out the salt buildup like a mini flush. You can get yucca wet to assist in salt removal. The yucca encapsulates the salt buildup and pulls them out with the runoff. It breaks hydrophobic bonds ensuring even medium hydration making “water wetter.”
