thanks for the help i ended up buying a 1200w LED from above all my equipment came in yesterday and i have it all setup my seeds will arrive on monday
Was late, but thought I’d tell you my experience. If you grow autos, you’re limited on training, but if you do photo seeds. Read up on plant training to maximize your canopy leveling and light penetration.
no thank you any advice and other peoples experiences helps alot i want to buy the QB for sure just going to wait on those until i get a couple grows under my belt. i plan on Scroging them i bought big bud fem seeds hoping it will go good only going to plant two of them and see how it goes
With photo seeds, your plant training is wide open. I’ve dabbled in different techniques, but the most beneficial one i find, is LST. If you’re afraid to top, train her top horizontal if you want, and expose bud site that wouldn’t get light otherwise. I’m on my 2nd and 3rd grows now. Look around and see what excites you to try, and go from there. Plant training is my favorite thing to do. We all love pictures, so here is some of my training I’ve done so far.
Just went back through electric usage. Looks like $30 a month with one light. Usage with both light was $55. Take in mind the exhaust fan ran 24 7, as well as two fans for airflow.
I got 7.5 ounces from my last batch.
ok awesome not bad at all im planting two big buds in my 3x3 with the led you suggested and a 4 inch inline fan with a carbon filter im hoping to get abour 10-14 ounces i dont know if i will but thats the goal! what strains have you planted?
I vegged for only 5 weeks to achieve the 7.5 ounces. I’m sure with a longer veg time the quantity will increase. Good luck on your first grow and if you have any questions please ask.
@shindig153 im taking you up on your offer for help. i germinated three seeds and i figured one would die but all three germinated so i planted them just about 2 hours ago and i want to make sure i did it right. i have 2 7 gallon fabric grow bags using happy frog soil. all i did was put a hole about 1/4 inch deep and pit the seeds root down and covered them up with some dirt and used my spray bottle ad sprayed the area one time. did i do it right or did i mess it up?
Sounds like you did it the same way I do. You’ll want to keep the humidity 50 to 70% if you can for the first two weeks. If you can’t it will be alright. To help with low humidity you can cut the bottom off a two liter soda bottle and place it over the plant once it pops out of the ground.
Do you have a Ph meter. If not you will want to buy one. There are some cheap digital ph meters on amazon. Ph plays a big role In growing. 6.5 is the sweet spot for soil.
Awesome im glad to hear i did it right i have a digital ph meter and one that sticks in the soil that also tells me how moist the soil is and the ph. My tent was at 81% humidity do i need to lower that or is it ok for the first couple days until it comes out of the ground? Also how far should i keep the light from the seedling? Thank you for the help
I keep my light a three feet above the plant. I don’t lower them any more than that. That helps spread the light out in the tent. Humidity should be good to start. Seems like you have your setup dialed in pretty well. Humidity is something I struggle with in the winter.
got it thanks for the help i appreciate it. Luckily i live in a pretty stable environment when it comes to humidity temperature will be my biggest issue our summers get very HOT
You seem like the go to guy when it comes to lights. I have the 1200 watt bestva light up above and i have a 250 watt sun system hps light during flowing could i run both at the same time or would that be a over kill? I have a 3x3 tent plan on scrogging and all plants are in a 7 gallon fabric pot.
You have multiple plants in one 7 gallon pot and plan on training them to a screen? If you can maintain temps you can give them both a shot. Typically the bigger hps lights and Amazon blurple panels run about the same photon efficacy. But I’m not sure about the smaller hps lights, they are usually a little lower. Since both lights draw about the same same amount of power, probably a craps shoot either way maybe slightly in favor of the led panel if you have to go one or the other.
Oh no sorry i meant each plant has its on 7 gallon fabric pot and ok so it probably wont make that big of difference if i run both?
Running both would probably make a pretty big difference. But they are likely relatively equal lights is what I meant.
How many plants? Multiple plants in 7 gallon pots seems like a lot for 3x3.
O ok makes sense ill use both then and i missed up i only wanted to have two plants but i germinated 3 seeds thinking 1 would do anything i was wrong and now i have 3 plants growing. So I figured id veg all three and if i loose 1 ill be ok. Now if 1 dont im probably going to end up buying another tent and putting 1 in it
When do you switch to main lights when starting from seeds? Have mine under CFL, about a week in.
I start with the main lights from the get go. I don’t have any experience using CFL lights. Seems like a more efficient way to start. If you find your plants stretching your main lights will help with that.
