These were my smallest 4. the runts out of 12 I sprouted and moved out of my 4x8 tent. They are 1 week into flower and may very well double in size. Now I believe @Hellraiser runs 4 in his 3x3 but he is super pro, Mr.Miyagi style at growing cannabis. Now if you train them up just right I am sure it is doable.
Another thing. I have 2 T8 fans, 2 T6s and a T4. The t4 may not be enough for that tent. You always want to error on the side of more. Lower setting means quieter plus more cfm from a bigger unit. I have a T6 in that 4x4 tent and it works perfect. Cant hear it and it moves a lot of air on 6.
All my lights are the kingbright lights.
I have 7 of them. 2 in the 4x4 and 5 in the 4x8
If you cant afford HLG then there is an alternative. You can also build your own. my plants are 74 days from sprout. I have no complaints and they appear to be doing a good job.
looks like @Nicky has got you covered. If i can help I will but like I said I am new to all this.
I just netted my 4x8 the other day and 4x4 tomorrow. I Should have did it a while back but being new it was good to be able to take the plants out and work on them and look them over. they have grown a couple inches since these pictures the other day. You gotta train them or one day youll open your tent and it’ll be like jumanji.
There is a lot of techniques being used on here so it is a great resource,. This is a great group here. No one will talk down to you or try and make you feel stupid. It just isn’t tolerated,.
I use a 3x3x7. I run 4 plants (autos or photos) in 5 gallon fabric pots. The main thing is managing size through training and veg time (photos of course).
I am including this picture to show the height restriction I had. The bottom of the red tape is 28" off the floor. When I flipped, the plant in the foreground was around 16-18 tall.
This is the same plant shortly before harvesting. I had to tuck the colas under the net to avoid light burn.
My lights need to be about 28" above the canopy.
For the next grow, I have gained over 12" + of height by going to an external fan and filter rather than hanging it from the ceiling of the tent.
Nice setup! I’m excited to get my new Spider Farmer sf2000! I’ll be pushing close to 440W in a 3x3! I’m a little worried about temps within the tent as they have been 80-85F w/the viparspectra. With the addition of another light, I may have temps in the high 80s, breaking 90s. It also doesn’t help that Cali is experiencing a heat wave. It’s been in the 100s almost everyday since I started the grow in August. I’ve REALLY been trying to stay on top of temps. Things will get better as the months go by & the weather cools down. I should have no problem running two lights come OCT/NOV.
The two light combo should get you there. The SF has the same samsung diodes as the PLC strips.
Also, the two lights will balance out the footprints.
I wired the PLC light so the driver is external. I think people have done the same with SF. It can help with heat management.
This is what I did with the intake fan. Quiets it down a bit and prevents light leakage.
You are starting out at where I did. FF OF and the trio. Solid combination along with calmag. As I am sure you have read in the forum, easy on the nutrients starting out. OF has a good amount in it already from its composted forest products.
You are off to a good start. Good luck. Set to watch.
Looking really good @Jackie_Daytona
Yeah I have 2 kingbright 1 hlg and I think I will always buy kingbrights, I don’t have that type of space you have I wish!
I think anyone can run more plants in a smaller space but that’s using the SOG method, when people first start out they should definitely limit the amount of plants they have to the standard amount for that space.
@Gingz I also ecco what Jackie is saying about the AC infinity, I use a T6 in my 3x3 but you already bought it so…
The T4 works like a champ! I’ve been running it @ 8 & it’s keeping the tent nice & vented. Haven’t had any problems with temps & circulation considering I’ve got 3 fans w/an intake & exhaust. To help, the tent is located in a trailer on the property. I have been using the AC unit on the trailer to help maintain cooler temps.
Okay well good to hear.
Use the controller silly!
Set it to like 26-28c high. Set the low to off
And fail in the humidity you want again set the low humidity to off. Turn the alarms off and leaf it on Auto On high temp (really it will read temp and humidity)
This week has had its ups & downs. As for the ups, my two Chemdawg plants are booming! I’m very pleased w/their growth @ 4 weeks from sprout. They started LST on 9/9. Haven’t fed them any nutrients, just filtered tap water pH’ed to 6.56 @ 139 PPM. As for my OG seedlings. . . .They seem to be struggling. Not too long after increasing my light intensity to 100% @ 24", I noticed the seedling’s growth had slowed, any new growth was dark green & its first set of serrated leaves started to yellow. This was definitely TOO much light for these guys. Pair my ignorance w/California’s recent heatwave, & maybe a tad bit of underwatering. . . and BAM! Hits ya plants square in the cotyledons.
Tent Temps this past week have avg. 84.9F w/a High of 101.7F & Low of 69.6F. . . RH has been 54-75%. I have changed the light height & intensity around trying to figure out what works w/the plants. For now, I’ve settled on 70% intensity @ 29" above the larger plants, 34" for the seedlings. I’ve been on top of waterings for the seedlings, twice a day now. I thought I could get away w/misting the topsoil once a day but w/the increased light & temps, those babies were hurting.
I included a picture of the plants BEFORE they had LST. I also ordered a Spider Farmer SF2000! Should arrive w/in the next month, hopefully before flower time. Excited!
Alright, getting further along seeing some great results!
The Chemdawg is 5 weeks old since sprout and just thriving. As for the OGs. . ., .they were given the chop. Was showing signs of underwatering & light damage. I didn’t want to wait the 3-4 extra weeks to VEG it out to a decent size. By that time the Chemdawg would have been monstrous & the canopy would have been difficult to manage. So here I am, left w/Two plants in a 3x3. Temps have been 77.8-87.1F w/an AVG of 81.5F. RH has been 55%-75%. Plants have been watered twice w/filtered tap water pH’ed to 6.5 @ 135PPM.
I’m currently running both lights, Viperspectra(VS) & Spiderfarmer(SF). The VS is @ 70% VEG 0% Bloom intensity, & SF is @ 30%. Both lights are at about 24in above the canopy.
