First Grow ww auto might have hit a bump

I know being a first time grower that you worry about your plants, and you probably look at them so much that you can’t see them grow. I went back to your previous pictures and they have grown, albeit a small amount, since then.

Once your seeds pop and you get your round feeder leaves and one set of leaves, then the plant will use this energy it is getting from your light to develop a root system. So they may seem to have stop growing, especially if you look at them to much.

Over watering is another problem for first time growers. They see that the plant isn’t growing and think it needs more water to grow. So let your soil dry out completely before you water again.

And lastly, Soil PH can also stall your plants, so make sure your soil and water are correctly PHed.

thats a perfect summary of whats going on. i do try not to go in the growroom every 5 mins :yum:
definitely holding back on the waterings. will keep be patient hopefully they will start showing some grow above ground.
thanks to @dbrn32 @Countryboyjvd1971 @raustin for the feedback

dropped the reaming 2 seeds in water today, there is still room in the tent so while doing 3 i can go with 5. might try smaller pots to start with

still no topside growth. and 2 of the plants seem to have some yellow spots on the leaves. not sure if i should just keep waiting or anything else i can do.
watered yesterday with ph 6.5 water.
have 2 more seeds in wet paper towels. will plant them in a different soil see if that is the issue.

good day fellow growers. just a little update and a question.
all seems to be well in the grow room, the 2 new seedlings broke surface today, i have them into smaller pots this time around, and flushed the soil before planting since it seems thats its too ‘hot’ for seedlings. also since this is my first grow im experimenting a bit to see what works and what doesnt.
in regards to the original 3 plants they seem to be doing good. i did notice the leaves on 2 of them slightly curled up. if anyone can have a look at the images and see if everything looks good.
also @Johnzy81 here you go welcome aboard

They look beautiful, nice and healthy. Sometimes leaves in seedlings take a while to look like real leaves and they grow a little wrinkled or curled, but it’s usually nothing to worry about. They should straighten out.

The hardest part for a new grower is patience. Slow and steady isn’t really what we’re prepared for because of people always saying “growing like a weed”.

If you don’t see any growth above, it’s all happening below…

Usually when leaves curl up it’s a sign of overwatering . Try an every other day approach and see how they do. Got to remember to once they pop up they start working in root base so it will slow a bit until they have a nice root system

just a quick update.
growth is slow but steady on the first 3 plants. they seem healthy just still tiny.
latest 2 plants i added to the grow seem to be going at a faster pace, they have been above ground 3 days and they already seem way ahead of the original 3. only thing different i did was to flush the soil before planting.
couple questions; nutrients, when to start? the original 3 plants broke soil 20 days ago. are they ready for a 1/4 strength feeding or its too early?!
also lights, my tent is 3 by 3, i have 2 viparspectras 450 watts,
according to my calculations that should be enough but double checking with you guys.

Hi @vegetarian everything looks pretty nice !! You really shouldn’t b using any nutes until you get around 5-6 full sets of leaves. Just watch your ph that’s very important. I’m not familiar with LED so @garrigan62 or @Countryboyjvd1971 may chime in shortly to help with that. But don’t rush thing because it will b working in a root system and may seem like it isn’t growing. Don’t keep your soil to wet it real easy to over water at this age so b patient so far so good

thanks @timmyv324
yeah i am being very careful not to overwater, i make sure the top 2 inches of soil are dry before watering.
when it comes to led i followed the rule of thumb, 50 watts per square feet and i think my lights cover that. but just wanna make sure in case i need to buy another light.
according to my nutrient schedule i should be already feeding thats why i am asking.

I’d say way to small to b feeding. As far as the schedule I have to decide when to start to implement the schedule . For me that’s usually once I get 5 sets of leaves so that’s my 1st week if veg and then carry on from there and you may have to extent a period so you will usually stick with the same recipe as the following week if that makes sense

That is part of the key to a feeding schedule. Timing is based on the stage of the plant.

We don’t count the seedling stage for a feeding regimen. Once you hit the 5th or 6th set of leaves, you count that as the start of the first week. Then you can start feeding 1/4 dosage and increase from there.

Good advice given above, I just wanted to elaborate a little more…

Welcome to ILGM

OK…first thing do not feed your girls yet OK ?
Wait till they have 5 to 6 true sets of leafs. Other wise you’ll burn them.
Tag me like this @garrigan65 that way i’ll be able to follow your Journal and or grow.
