@Ak723 If you put a caterpillar at the entry point of your tent, it makes it not only easier to get back out to the res through it, but, if you loosen that union, and pivot the caterpillar up or down, you can also adjust the water level in your grow totes in the tent.
The issue with s traping the drain into the res is that you create a high point. My net pots are deep and almost to the level of the top of the trap. It would make my res pretty worthless because it would only allow for a few inches of run off.
@Ak723 use 4" net pots and tie wrap them down to the lid.
Next grow I’m doing that. I went with the 5gal net pots and they are too big. I cut the tops for the buckets already and those stupid tops are a pain to get.
I had a similar problem with my catapiller. I ended up cutting the tent so the high point can be twisted down. It also allowed me to have more water in the rez.
When I realized that issue I thought about doing that but I’m not confident on sewing and keeping the light from getting out. I wish grow tents offered a better setup for hydro.
I just did an x cut then, taped up both sides with reflective tape. Worked so good it did it to both tents.
Good luck with it
Sprayed my air ventilation tubes for blocking laundry light reflectivity from tent intakes tubes.
You can always buy some black out curtains from Wally World and find a way to pin it, wrap it, or whatever it takes to keep the light out from around the area that might be an issue.
@Ak723 … I prefer the smaller 3 inch square pattern. Makes it easier to hold more branches.
I like your set I’m looking to build 2 buckets and res and chiller my self tying to figure out pvc layout well best. Way I was thinking waterfall back into bucket I see something like pa hydroponics setup same idea think this is my second replay on this so sorry
