He’s growing in coco. There are zero nutrients in coco. He should add nutrients at every feeding.
60-65% RH in your grow space is ideal at 73°F. That puts you at a 1.1-.9 for VPD. She will love you if you can get that as close to 60% if possible.
Since you are in the beginning of the flower window, next week I would drop the humidity to 45-50% which again at 73°F will get you a VPD of 1.4 perfect for flowering with good airflow.
My bad. Must have confused with another thread.
Maybe not. Guess I’m not losing it after all. These people do know what they’re talking about either way
Lol i could have sworn he said it was coco…
@Grahn will you clarify… are you in soil or coco?
That was @440slum
I got confused too lol
Grahn never said anything bout Coco. Others have chimed in stating diff’s and a few of you chimed in stating you are using coco but OP is in the starter kit from ILGM with the WW autos. Take another RIP!!!
Hi! Sorry, would have posted earlier but apparently I got too excited and blew through my post quota for the first day!
@OverallQuill80 and @Bamarayne, I’m growing in soil…, @440slum had mentioned that he’s using coco, and the conversation got all crazy there for a second and things got mixed up. I know nothing about coco yet but, judging by the conversation here, it might be my next experiment once this bag of soil is used up! Not being able to overwater it might be great for overthinkers like me and @440slum
SO much good info here from absolutely everyone… making a post here was the best thing that I could have done So OK, sounds like my gameplan for tomorrow (next watering day) is to water without food and compare pH on the way in to the runoff on the way out. Sounds like I’ll keep doing that until things level off and, after that, it’ll be time for flowering food (and lots of light… I already lowered my lamp a little bit!)
@MidwestGuy and @Bonjoyle, thanks for the advice on everything, especially humidity… I’m still working on dialing that in. Tracked down a couple of tiny humidifiers that should help, but I have a wet towel near the plants right now in the meantime!
Oh and don’t feel bad if you find out that you underwatered for a while in the beginning @440slum… I actually buried one of my seeds too deep and barely got away with rescuing it!
Change both the towel and water daily as a precaution. No prob on the feedback. You got this.!! You listen and throw back what folks are saying very clearly so know you are picking up what others are laying down. Good Job!
One last thing, you get that humidity up and give her the correct amount of light for her age and she will love you for it. Are you familiar with DLI yet? Here is a chart for Auto’s that show the DLI for the different ages. Both Iphone and Androids have apps to take the guess work out of DLI.
Sorry for muddying the water. No trio mentioned. ??
I need to reiterate what I said in the first post: you have insufficient light to properly flower out multiple plants. You need 150 to 200 watts of quality LED’s per plant to get dense flower. Without enough light your temps are lower, nutrient transport is less etc. This is the number one thing you need to address.
Lol i guess i hit the bubble a little too hard…
Hey again!
@Bonjoyle, that is GREAT info and the kind words mean a ton to someone who is just starting to find their way. So I’m somewhat familiar with DLI, but only because I read some articles about PPFD early in my whole journey. I have the Photone app for iOS, but I feel like I might need a better diffuser (other than a strip of paper wrapped around the phone’s camera) to get what I really need out of it. But I love that graph… the number of weeks and the phases for autos look like they’re more in line with what I’m seeing on this first grow than some other things that I’ve seen!
@OverallQuill80, so sorry that I’m a complete noob, but I’m guessing that the “trio” is the Fox Farms food (Big Bloom/Grow Big/Tiger Food)? So right now I’m just going off of the various stages of food that came with the ILGM beginner grow kit. BUT, my wife just happened to give me a pack of those Fox Farms three for my birthday! She’s a nice lady So I’m thinking, next grow, I’m going to use them…
Definitely hear you about the light situation @Myfriendis410. Hope you don’t think I ignored you before! So, as soon as I can figure out money-type things after all of the Christmas bills, I’ll probably upgrade the light situation. Booked the plane tickets for our Summer vacation next year and it kind of temporarily wrecked me
Just keep it in mind for your next grows. I would also suggest trying photoperiod over autos when you do. If you ran one of those lights over each plant during flower you will see a great increase in flower density.
You’re doing well so far and you’ve got a great bunch looking over your shoulder.
@Grahn
Ok. Ignore everything I said… mostly… I’ve never grown in soil so I do not want to give any bad information. I can definitely help when/if you venture over to the coco world.
Happy Growing!
Oh no problem @Bamarayne! Nothing you said threw me off, it was all good stuff!
Actually watered this morning (just water, no food) and had about a 6.5pH going in and somewhere in the low 7.0s coming out, so I’m glad things aren’t too far off (I don’t have a digital meter yet, just the little color-based test kit). Prolly do that pure water one more time just to stave off any potential Nitrogen problems and then start on the flowering food, I’m guessing.
Exciting stuff!
Yeah, It was a random question/comment by another grower not the original poster.
Would have been better in its own thread, but this happens to threads all the time.
Maybe should have had him start a topic of his own, but its usually just an answer or two within the whole and no big deal. At least @Grahn kept it straight in his mind.
Hey there to give you some idea of what to expect these are ILGM white widow auto flowers i just grew
These are from 20 days at the bottem to 40 days at the top i used alot of LST to get the plant to conform to my growing space
I also purchased a soil monitor from amazon that tells me my soil water level and my fertilizer level in the soil as well as my temp and light. I found this extremely helpful so i did have to worry about overwatering over feeding my plant
Hope this helps!
Brain
Oh nice! Thank you @BrainwrecK! I actually just finished my last temporary non-food (just pure water) watering today, since folks here thought that the plants might be a little too nitrogen heavy. I’m gonna start my flowering food as soon as the next watering time makes itself apparent (I’m still figuring out at, if this point, that means every two or three days… trying to get a feel for what the plants need/consume at this point)
That soil monitor from Amazon looks pretty hardcore/awesome If you get a chance, feel free to drop a link in here and I’ll take a look at it! Christmas did a number on my credit card so, as soon as I get out of the red, I’m going to look at stuff like that and maybe a better lighting rig, etc…
Thanks again to all that have contributed to this thread. I’m psyched for this grow but, given everything I’ve learned over the last number of weeks, I’m even more excited for my second grow
Oh, and my humidifier allegedly shows up tomorrow!
