Awesome!! A lot of us bought the 10 for 10 it appears! It was a great deal from ILGM!!
Thanksā¦ here is my problem. I started a Maui Wowie photo 3 weeks after the WW auto, assuming I would harvest the WW 9 weeks later and switch the lights to 12/12. Now Iām getting pushed another 2 to 3 weeks and Maui is getting big. Iāve done both HS and LS training but Iām not sure I can hold off much longer. Will the WW auto do OK for the last 2 weeks at 12/12 lighting?
Your widow will do just fine on the 12/12 till harvest time ā¦ right now sheās doing her thing. Actually, harvesting your Maui while ww continues to bulk up and ripen may be a blessing in disguise because it will be less workload on you harvesting the girls at different timesā¦ itās a job to harvest (cut and manicure) one much less two together especially on a first grow. I harvested my wwa first and the gorilla glue 3 weeks laterā¦ each harvest took me a full day of trimming with lots of breaks to get upā¦stretch out (give my arms/hands a rest). After finishing the widow I decided to harvest gg a bit differentlyā¦ what I did was cut the large power leaves off a week before harvestā¦that left me with only having to trim off the sugar leavesā¦ was so much easier and a lot less time.
Iāll give you an updateā¦ Iām going to switch to 12/12 next week!
Iām a bit confusedā¦ thought you were already on 12/12 because of your Maui being a photo? But anyway for the wwa like I mentioned sheāll be fine on 12/12. Actually itās a positive as it will sorta trick her into thinking itās winter and help her ripen faster & develop more trichomes. Another plus is tent temps will stay lower with shorter light hoursā¦ need to keep temp/humidity lower in bloom cause if too high it can quickly lead to mold on your buds (and other issues). So this extra time you have to wait out for the widow seems to be in your favor. Iām just curious about the light schedule youāve been on all this timeā¦ how did your āphotoā maui get to flower without the 12/12 flip? Keep me posted!!!
Iām still on 18/6. The Maui is still in veg stateā¦ it is now 9 weeks from seed and I want to switch light schedule to make it flower now. I didnt want to impact the WW autoās yeild by switching to 12/12 to early. Iāll send a pic of the Maui laterā¦ Iāve got a pretty flat canopy after the training Iāve done and want to start it flowering because I still have another 9 weeks of flowering once I change the light schedule. For my first grow i wanted to try an auto flower and a photo sensitive, maybe I shouldnāt have taken both on for my first try!
Putting the WW auto under 12/12 wonāt decrease your yield.
Coolā¦ Iāll switch the lights tonight. Thanks
Picked up a usb microscope for $50. Here is th WW auto at 12 weeks 2 days from seed. Still looks all clear to meā¦ maybe just a little milky.
Awesome shot!!!
Those look like little disco balls!!
Great Pictures OJ-Gold, your plants look beautiful. Iām on my first grow as well and have one WW in the mix. Theyāre only 12 days and seem to be doing well. Your thread in very useful/constructive. How did you get such close ups of the Trichomes, are you using a macro lens? One thing Iām learning is that this is a good exercise in patienceā¦which I severely lack but will try to develop.
All the best!
I bought a $50 USB microscope on Amazon for the pictures. It works great. Make sure to ph your water and nutrients to between 6 and 6.5 I was ignorant to that for 9 weeks and had to recover with a flush and some additional work. But the WW is a very tough plant! I canāt wait to weigh the final buds. I have a Maui Wowie photo at 3 weeks in flower after 9 weeks of veg. This one is going to be pretty awesome!
Cool Man, Thanks for the info. I just ordered the PH tester, PPM tester and other equipment & nutrients.
What is Root Bond, I have an idea but am not familiar w the term and what causes it. Did your friend leave them in the initial container too long.
Mine are really young but I want to be careful I dont mess up along the way. I think by next week Iāll transplant them from the cup container to a 1 gal fabric pot. Mine are not autoflower and Iām using Fox Farm soil.
Thanks again!
If the pot size restricts the plants roots it can effect the plants ability to grow and get needed nutrients. I used 5 gal. Pots and i am glad I did. These plants developed extensive root systems. Keep reading different topics, you can learn a lot from blogs and websites
Thank you OJ-Gold. I may forego the transplant to the 1 gal pots and go directly to the 5 gal that I already purchased to minimize the number of transplants and the potential transplant shock. I am really excited about this whole venture, I find it to be a lot of fun. Iāll read up some more as youāve suggested.
Thank you and Take care.
15 weeks from seed white widow auto. Trichomes just showing hints of amber.
