I am looking for Jack’s as well. All I see is a bunch of Hydroponic stuff. Isnt that when you grow in water without soil or anything else? I think I am looking at the wrong crap.
Do you have access to grow stores or hydroponic supply store nearby
This is correct, I should have stated this was in soil…
I also do not worry to much about tds in coco, but i do monitor ph though.
That is carted. Thanks! How many plants will this one brick do? Just 1? I am thinking fo trying to do 2 plants in my 3x3x6 tent. I am not sure if there is room or not, but it seems that it should be okay.
Then one package of 2 bricks will do fine. Each brick will do (2) 3-5 gallon pots.
You’re finding the right stuff if you see hydroponic. Go to eBay and search Jacks 321, and target a 6 or 7 pound kit. Each kit should contain 3 products in the right proportions. For example, mine came as 3.6 lbs Part A, 2.4 lbs Part B, and 1.2 lbs Epsom salt.

What do you all think of this? Anything else? Besides a pH pen. I will get that later.
Hydroponic fertilizers are used in both soil and hydro.
And coco coir is a form of hydroponics…
If money isn’t a big issue,
Get yourself some coco and perlite, mix your own or buy premixed dosen’t matter. Mix at 70% coco 30% perlite…
Get yourself a auto pot set up .
Id suggest a 4 pot kit at least 3.9 gal up to the XL kits, for the 3x3, may not need all 4 every grow but its always good to have an extra pot or 2.
I use a 4 pot xl spring pot kit…
You get the benefits of Hydroponic yeilds, with out any run-off ever, and you only hand water the first week or 2 so till they establish roots.
Then you fill the tank with your nutrient solution and let it go till it runs out… and rinse and repeat…
I use Gh trio in mine with cal-mag because its what im use to.
but jacks is where its at and ifvi ever changevit be to jacks.
Or grow dots for auto flowers…
This is my autopots set up…
Seems like everyone who uses autopots loves them. I’m just not there, yet. Particularly since my next grow is a 15 pot SOG. No damn way I’m popping $900 to get out of 15 minutes of hand watering a day. I LIKE watering. Gives me the feeling I’m accomplishing something, without having to expend any real effort.
Does my updated build kit have every thing I will need for a successful grow? Is there anything else I should pick up that you can see?
You’re going to have some trouble with the lights, I think. Lights are the single-most important piece of hardware you need. Absolutely critical for success. (2) 100 watt lights are good for maybe 4-5 square feet of canopy. About half the size of your tent, if memory serves. You may pull it off if you stick to two plants, but you’ll need to control your horizontal spread. The further the light source is from the buds the lighter and airier the bud growth - and buds aren’t like biscuits where light and fluffy is a desirable trait.
You’ll need some hangers and fans right off the bat.

The fans you’ll need are strictly for internal air movement. I use two, one each in opposing corners and hung using the ratchet hangers above.

HLG is currently one of the better bang for your buck light suppliers. Find them at horticulturelightinggroup dot com. Check the Rspec 260 kit for a 3x3. Some assembly required, but nothing difficult. Roughly twice the cost of your pair of Vivosun, though.
So I have already purchased those 2x VS1000’s so I am stuck with them for this first grow.
I am going to have to figure out how to make them successful.
That sucks too, because I used their website and they suggested 2 of these for a 3x3 grow. /sigh
Hydroponic nutrients just means that it is water soluble and immediately available for the plants.
I bought the Fox Farms Trio and two of the three bottles will be dumped out in my yard. The only one I used up was Big Bloom because it’s the only one that will not burn your plants if you overdose them. I use Master Blend nutrients which is a three-part dry fertilizer just like jacks. Love the stuff. I have one plant in Cocoa and I am watering it daily, does not work for my schedule but lots of people love the explosive growth that Coco provides. For growing in a dry media it has the best environment for your roots. Just be prepared to water everyday.
What if I add a 3rd VS1000? Will that solve my wattage issue? That is likely the cheapest solution for me at this point.
I’d stick with the two, but understand the limitations. As you near the end of the first grow you’ll be far more knowledgeable and be better prepared to decide what your next lighting step will be. Good lighting is the most important and most expensive piece of kit. Take your time on a decision.
If nothing else, the two you have will get you through veg. And new lights are only a few days from ordering to receipt.
Sorry I had to go take care of some things. It looks like @DrWoo and others have you on the right path. I use Jack’s also, it can be used in soil, Coco or hydroponics and will give you excellent results with ease. There’s no guessing about whether your girls are getting proper nutrients.
