i used to be an indoor grow pro untill the law put a stop to that 8 yrs ago. this year Maine is recreatiomal use legal and im allowed 6 budding females. i ordered seeds from here and here are my results this far. in 5 gal grow bags at 2 weeks and in 20 and 40 gal planters with tomato plant cages at 4 weeks. ill post more pics of this outdoor and my soon to come indoor grows

what a brainstorm ive come up with! so, I only have 6 plants on my buddys property, but he and his 2 sons have 6 plants each in 30 gal pots for a total of 24 plants. feeding is going to be a hassle, so here is my solution. his well water is super hard and we needed to address this anyhow. his property is sloping. we are going to set up a 55 gal barrel uphill of the plants. we will fill the barrel with a hose. we can then use ph down and ph strips to neutralize the water. then mix the nutrients 50 gal at a time. the barrel will have a spigot and shut off valve close to the bottom of it. clear tubing will be attached to the spigot and "T"ed out to all the plants downhill with some kind of feeder ends or sweat tubing on the ends to regulate flow evenly to all plants. maybe drip irrigators? what u all think??? ill post pics when finished

Welcome back to growing and ILGM, your girls are looking great!

You will want to pH adjust after adding nutes, but the barrel is an awesome idea!

I grow indoors and have a 55 gallon rainbarrel catching rainwater from my gutter and have a hose attached to the tap that is run through a basement window to my grow area. Making my life soooo much easier than I have it in winter!

Happy farming!

The only downside I see is that the water with nutrients is probably only good for a period of time? I’m not sure if the water would still be good after a day or so??

I’m gonna tag some of the guys and see what they think!

Other than that, I love the idea! How does the water get to the 55 gallon drum? Anyway to collect rainwater?

I didn’t mean to hold it for time. I just ment estimate the amount needed for a feeding and mix for each weeks feeding. the first time I fill the barrel, ill do it 10 gal at a time and hash mark the barrel so I can refill it 10 gal at a time

also, the water gets to the barrel from a garden hose from his plumbing. and he is a beginner grower with a few yrs experience, but truly doesn’t know how to read the plant or what hes really doing. that being said, he has gathered rain water the last few yrs. but he just had a few 5 gal buckets to tend to. we have 24 plants in 30-40 gal pots and he didn’t set the barrels up in advance so we would have water to use now. we need to wet down 10 bales of promix this weekend. and the rain water runoff is down hill of the plants so no gravity feed and I’m getting too old to hand carry all those gallons all year. plus feeding time gets sooo much easier

12v pony pump would pump water uphill within reason but assuming you are harvesting rain water it takes time to refill and plants can go through 5-10 gallons each every week even in smaller pots.

he actually usually does the same thing but he never set up the barrels and we need water now. the barrels are set up now and when they fill, we will pump it up yo the top barrel as we need it. rain barrels where in the original plan due to his well get low in mid summer

@oldpro, welcome! I think the problem is that none of your plants are going to cooperate with you on all drying out at the same rate. It’s probably worth the effort to fill the barrel full and let it stand to warm up and run a hose down to your plants with buckets to mix nutes and adjust ph in smaller amounts.
