First grow. 4x8 tent ,16 plants, wish me luck

All right ! Robert’s seeds to the rescue. I have always had good luck with germinating his seeds. Can’t wait to see how this grow goes. It is ambitious for a first grow but you should learn a ton of things about growing. Keep me in on your journal ! Jerry

I dropped my light down to stop the stretching

Might not hurt to have a small portable fan in the room to make the plants just barely move (like they are shivering) to help strengthen the stalk. Don’t have it directly pointing at the plants but close enough to have them barely move. Moving the light closer and a fan should make the plants way stronger.

I have a small fan blowing straight at them but it’s on low . It’s just enough to to make them shake

Why not aim it straight at it?

I just don’t want to tell you to put it straight on it and have it break off on you. Too strong a breeze can make the stalks snap. I might not happen but why take the risk with it? As long as it is just shaking a little it is OK. It would be a shame to break off a plant that has such good genetics. Jerry

No problem. Glad I can be of assistance.

You also don’t want to strong of a wind on the leaves in will mess with evaporation @Niala maybe able to explain it better than me thought
Al please help me explain this hahahaha thanks in advance bro

Always happy to help, my friend :grinning:

When wind pass a certain velocity, espacelly when it aim from under the canopy, tiny holes called stomata, situate under the leaves, and responsible for the “breathing”, (exchange of gas), are gone a close. It’s the way a plant is protecting it’s self because the evaporation is gone a be too fast and the plant will think that it’s an a drought situation. It will cause the leaves to look “droopy”, just like the symptom of underwatering… And eventually, the leaves will die…

Hoping that the explanation is helping clarify a little the processus, @Countryboyjvd1971 and @Frescal

Awesome, thank you. Should I just aim the fan against the wall then. Is there a technique?

Far too much discussion about this fan  suppose just leave er off until there alittle bigger

This won’t make or break your grow, just follow ur instincts: )

It seems that you do not have a rotating fan so, yes, aim it to the wall…

Yeah aim it a wall and air will circulate around tent a little light air is good for them it help develop strong stems @Frescal if your leaves move slightly your good

Lights are 28" away. Should I move them closers. They look pretty stretched

what are you using for lights?

Quite a neighborhood you are developing. Have they been stretching for a while? IF you are using both 600 watt bulbs, I would try to bring it down a little and hold your hand palm down over the canopy for 8-10 seconds. If it is comfortable leave the light there. Keep a close eye on them for a couple hours to make sure it is not too much.

See if that helps.
