I’ll see if I can get ahold of any tomorrow thanks need 2 more
I did look at that because their strip is photo red and not Far red.
I wasn’t sure how I could fix them up to mount in the tent easily, then I found the FGI one.
A bar will be so much easier to deal wih because I already have stuff in place where it can easily be up in minutes.
TBH, I liked the look of some of their LEDs but they’re using Shenzhen Lideda LEDs. LOL! OK…
They probably make Samsung chips too truth be told. LOL! You just never know with these companies…I can buy a Toyota right now that’s actually a BMW in uglier clothes! LOL!
I think the thing I liked is their higher end LEDs incorporate app control. Not sure how HLG and the others have missed out on that. We have a app controllable fishtank led that with awesome spectrum control and it was less than $100!
At any rate, my strip is slowly crawling across Washington state…UGG! I live in Virginia! LOL!
Questions - When I got my UVA strip I let it run the full 12hr with the 350R. Should I not do this? I figured the sun puts out UVA and B rays all day. I can’t say I saw any detrimental effects on the plants - just a lot of stickiness.
Do you run your far red in conjunction with the 13/11 or JUST the 7 minutes after the light goes off?
My plan was to run it all day with the 350R and then 15minutes after the main and UVA shut off.
Also, would it be detrimental to switch to the 13/11 in the third or fourth week of flower, or should I just wait until next grow to do that? I guess I should say “since the flip” as I think “flowering” begins when I have little buttons forming up.
I did buy a dual outlet, dual timer timer. LOL!
So they’d be synchronized to the same clock and the times should be exact.
I just want to make sure I’m using it the most effective way possible. so thanks in advance for any info you can offer about your experience.
They should put you on the payroll man! You do A LOT for everyone here!
Happy Expanding Your Horizons Everyone!!!
That’s fine and what I do, you can run UVA all day no problem, it’s UVB that really needs to be limited to a couple hours a day and only for the last couple/few weeks of flowering.
Only for the 7 minutes after the main lights shut off. I’m using far red for the faster to harvest method not so much for the emerson effect method. I’ve heard other growers complain of way too much stretch when far red is run all day, but I have not tried it myself.
I’d wait til next grow, don’t think it’d be much of a benefit starting late in the process and may be potential down sides.
Thanks for the info and suggestions. I certainly don’t want to crash and burn my clones so I’ll hold off till next grow for the shorter flowering period.
The point about he stretch is well taken and I’ve read a couple of horror stories myself on other sites. But it did make me think that maybe a little far red during the stretch on indicas could come in useful.
And yeah - I’ve got to do some “not after a bong hit” reading on The Emerson Effect.
It’s some pretty heady stuff when you’re half ripped! LOL!
Thanks Again for your time and help!
I just did a write up in my journal. It’s kinda long so hopefully this link works!
Good morning @merlin44 You are wise and know much that is hidden. Ive resurrected this post. Ive got the HLG 30 watt uv. Im not exactly sure how to properly implement it? Dost thou have any suggestions?
You can try to get fancy (which I have done) or you can keep it simple (as I now do) and just have the UV come on with the main lights.
On my current grow, I hit them with too much UV and caused some issues which are now under control by backing off on the UV.
Okay, I’d read somewhere about only 30 min a day. I’ve got an auto on 18/6. Is that too much? I could put it on a separate timer. 2nd ? whilst in the presence. Is 18/6 too much light on the auto? She seems a little stretched to me.
I only gave them UV for part of the day until I went with simple on & off with the main lights.
The sun emits UV all of the time.
Makes sense. Thanks my friend.
