Yep, you got some very good points there, I agree w you 100%. Kinda why I dont want to bother growing this summer at all! You’re totally right about cooling during the summer too, real pita & $.
Same here on the heat end of it, kind of the only time having the HID fixture works towards one’s advantage.

I get my grow going really good but when it 103 outside and 85% rh the heat you can wear and then running a dehumidifier at the end of flower now i run 2 600w hps mh lights and 2 288qb together i have deep red led strips lights that I’m going to try out. I do get good growth with my temperature from 83 to 91 degrees just depends on the weather outside i think playing with different nitrogen type’s should make up for the color and frost on the buds but the dry air today it’s 28% rh which helps bring alot more frost on the buds and i can’t get this in the summer time and fighting the heat you can wear is a bitch on the charcoal filters with my last grow and this one i now do believe that combining the two lights mh/hps and leds makes a better product and i run the lights at 100% i can make squatty plants and mainline indicas with just raising and lowering the lights i want to have these tested so i can see what terpins and the tissue culture says also chealated calcium and Epson salt with humic acid blows cal-mag away and adding molasses crystals or agave nectar is really working on the brix readings. Ok done rambling on to much coffee lol

Thanks for the insight ThcinKC. I’m with you guys, this last summer was a bitch to finish and I think I ended early july ±. Keeping the RH down was a nightmare, had to have ac & dehum cranking the whole time, on top of ac the entire house, no dice. I’ll pass on the summer grows.
Never even thought about the charcoal filters.
I can see that being the case, I like the HID lights, its just they eat up the juice! but aside from that I would think using both hid & QBs plus some red strips you should be able to do what ever you fancy.
Gonna have to came back & pick your brains further on this one. Been curious about this epson salt/molasses/humic thing, plus some Cuervo?!

Seven out of 10 are showing thru now. Pretty sure the Cindy 99 seeds bit it, paper towel dried out over night because I got high and forgot to add water. FmL
